Exactly. If anyone ressembles Lendl at the start of his career is Murray. I'm sure Lendl can teach a few things to Andy and help him get his first slam. 2012 is going to be an interesting year. Expect a battlefield between Nole and Andy. Federer and Nadal will start fading in the background I'm afraid.

This reminds of some posters on RF.com calling Roger and Paul's partnership more than a year and a half before it happened. It turned out Fed was in talks with Annacone who like a man did not want to leave the LTA job right away but in the end took the right decision to coach the GOAT.

Jordan didn't start winning rings till he was 28 anyway. Rodman turned out to e absolutely vital, given his tremendous ability at the boards.

Yeah, nothing. Roddick only reached a USO final where he played out of his skin and lost to Federer GOAT mode. Really, some Serbians should better spend some time watching tennis before attempting to post something related to the sport.

Yes Nadal really looks like he's fading away. He couldn't even hit a ball today. Even when Fed & Nadal aren't the best in the world anymore they're still in the forefront in the eyes of the average tennis viewer - heck even in terms of the average person who turns up at a tournament. It'll stay that way for a while whether people like it or not - Fedal: 26 slams; Murray/Nole: 4 slams. They're a while away from fading just yet - it's not like Fish, Berdych and the others in the top 10 are lining up to thrash them!
Re: Lendl - hope this change works out well for Murray - he just lacks that aggressiveness you need in a slam & that extra confidence. Would be ridiculous if he ended his career without a slam (as a Brit I hope he doesn't win Wimbledon just because the hysteria would be too much - we'd never hear the end of it - I'd rather he got his favourite US Open & Aus Open too as the surface suits him...). Unless his form is terrible in Brisbane he should be the second favourite after Novak for the title IMO - I think he's mentally stronger than this time last year & had generally a very consistent 2011 - bodes well.

The Daily Mail says this was a "shock" to the tennis world, what, I doubt it??? This is as much a surprise as Ricky Martin coming out

Good to see the Muzz getting rid of the mum and getting Lendl on board.
No excuses now for Murray, I still think his biggest problem is mental and emotional.

His mother has never had any official coaching role.
