I'd be surprised if this was true tbh, only a week or so ago Murray was saying how he was looking forward to a more uninterrupted stint of training with Cahill leading up to the USO, so on that basis it would be a strange time for him to make an appointment.

Not to mention from what I've seen it's pretty much the only site carrying the story, meaning it's more likely it's just a typical case of a journalist putting two and two together to come up with something, rather than there being much truth to it I think.

I like the sound of this. Not a superstar in his own right, whose ego might clash with Murray's. Not a guy of his own age who he'll have a "mates" relationship with, but an experienced coach who has worked with good players, and who Murray will hopefully respect.

Hope it works out.

I hope it wasn't rasheed's doing with Monfils camping the baseline. Otherwise, we'll be seeing Murray order drinks during points.

hahaha what a stupid decision. monfils is now the same pusher he was before being coached by rasheed. he didn't become an aggressive player, which is what murray needs. poor decision. probably the worst coach murray could get to change his game.

Rasheed actually instructed Monfils to be more aggressive and step into the court, he's doing it a bit more now, but Gael didn't want to/doesn't feel comfortable playing that way.

We'll see what type of impact, IF this is true, that Roger has on Murray. He's a work hard, laugh about it later type, so maybe he and Murray can get in good graces quickly. Murray seems like the type who needs a coach he also sees as a friend.

Surprising that Sheed got a job with anyone after the Hewitt disaster. I've heard Sheed commentate and he sounds like a tennis fan who has opinions on strategy, but no technical knowledge. Is not convincing at all.

Yeah cause Rasheed did so much with Mugfils

Murray is consistent enough that he'll probably win a slam or the WTF by accident in a few years and Rasheed will take credit, but I've seen nothing in his time with HEwitt or Mugfils to show he's even a competent coach.

Good hire. I don't think he will help Murray much on the real tennis court, but I hear he has lots of good tips on Virtua Tennis and Topspin. Maybe Murray can finally get over the hump and win Wimbledon on easy.

thsts very true

murray has been very close to winning something big for years now. with or without rasheed he's bound to win a GS someday but now that he hired him all the clowns on MTF will attribute the success to rasheed
