On the face of it, this does seem like a strange pairing but who knows

Now if by any chance Gulbis starts playing better, people will know "why".

This is kinda sad.

Gumy was his previous coach and he also worked with Canas earlier.

it's not like gulbis has a good reputation anyway. imo it's more a risk for willy to work with an unmotivated player like gulbis.

btw didn't know you are a fan of gulbis

I like most of these unmotivated fussy queens from Eastern Europe and Kazakhstan, they are different from the robots we usually see in tennis and give it a human touch. They're usually intelligent people off court and give better interviews too.

i always thought women are more into successful, high status, and motivated men who have serious goals and go after it.

of course there are exceptions from this rule.

I wonder why it didn't work out with yummy Gumy. Was it Gumy who didn't want/couldn't or was it Erno's initiative.

You ppl here don't know a lot, do you?

Last year Gumy became father of child again. His 3rd. He began to find it hard to travel with Gulbis.

And you are also too lazy to check out Canas case:

On August 8, 2005, Cañas was suspended for two years and was forced to forfeit US$276,070 in prizes by the ATP after testing positive for a diuretic called hydrochlorothiazide, a substance with no benefits in itself other than as treatment for hypertension, but used to cover other forbidden substances.[4] No traces of any other forbidden substance were found in Cañas's sample, and the player asserts the diuretic was present in some medicine prescribed by ATP doctors Mercader and Chinchila for a sore throat he contracted during the Acapulco tournament in Mexico.[8] At the time of his ban, Cañas had been at the highest ranking of his career, world number eight.[7]
Cañas vowed to fight the ban, claiming he was innocent of the charges against him. Cañas took his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. His perseverance paid off on May 23, 2006, when he was acquitted of deliberate performance enhancement through illegal substances, since the substances were in a prescription medicine. He was, however, considered careless in not checking the medicine before ingesting it. He was allowed to return to full professional activity from September 11, 2006, and the money prizes acquired before the suspension were restored. Cañas's points, which determine a player's ranking, were nil upon his return, as they had expired.[4][9]

I think Canas can be a good coach for Gulbis. He has what the Latvian lacks. Fighting spirit.

Cañas will make a hard worker out of Gulbis or it won't work.

At this point, this is more up to Gulbis than Cañas.

I am so sick of reading all the same old shit about Willy whether his name is mentioned. His name never came up with Odesnik and you have no proof that he was involved.

I cannot see Willy putting up with any crap from Ernie. I hope it works out for both of them especially Willy. For me I am happy as I might get to see some practice shots of Willy and Ernie.

Default Monfils & Roger Rasheed Split

http://www.lequipe.fr/Tennis/breves2...-est-fini.html

Quote:

Monfils / Rasheed, it's over

After the victory of the team of France's Davis Cup, Gaël Monfils has formalized the end of his collaboration with his coach Roger Rasheed. "I decided to stop my collaboration with Roger mutual agreement. I think we came to the end of a great story. I owe him a lot, I learned a lot with him, says the seventh world. This is a great coach, very professional, which took me to my best ranking. Sometimes it happens that one can think of other things. But it went very well. We talked, we had a good discussion. We are very good friends. "Patrick Chamagne his confidential until now, became his full-time coach. The duo begins this week with the tournament in Stuttgart, where French is the main headline.
