Re: The Madrid Cheering Thread - Let's Forget the Bad Stuff and Talk about Tennis Instead
I'm hoping the best for him today. Really tough that he has to turn around and play doubles without much of a break.

mariano won the first 7-6!! and now he's 1-1 in the second (I rely on ATP's scoreboard) so that's much the info I get Go Mariano!!!!!!!

Re: The Madrid Cheering Thread - Let's Forget the Bad Stuff and Talk about Tennis Instead
it's 2-1 now...and he is serving!!! This would be a great day if he wins. If Nadal loses, than Puerta might have a huge chance to go far in the tournament. Go HANESCU! GO PUERTA!

Re: The Madrid Cheering Thread - Let's Forget the Bad Stuff and Talk about Tennis Instead
3-2 and he is serving! Please God! Let this miracle happen!I do hope Sol is there to cheer him up! Sol is like the expression of all our hope and good thoughts. She surely transmits this to Mariano, although she doesn't know she is doing this on our behalf. Vamos Puerta! Hanescu leads Nadal by 3-2
Now is 3-3...he just lost his serve. Puerta I mean. Oh, boy! This is ****ing great!

Dtiger and everyone else to have in faith in Mariano, I admit I was pesimistic about this match...
Great victory for Mariano...this should give him some credit as a Top 10 player and his talent over other (crap) stuff.... I'm so happy!!!

Re: The Madrid Cheering Thread - Let's Forget the Bad Stuff and Talk about Tennis Instead
We often tend to underestimate Mariano...i did that in almost all the matches he playied in the Romanian Open...I think it's because I still think of him as the lucky player who got to the RG final, and has no chance whatsoever of acomplish anything else. Shame on me!

Re: The Madrid Cheering Thread - Let's Forget the Bad Stuff and Talk about Tennis Ins
Wow, that's amazing! I just saw the result, I'm so happy for Mariano.
I didn't expect this at all because everybody said Mirnyi played well against Ferrero yesterday.
He's got a really good chance now, Ferrer has been playing quite poorly lately.

Re: The Madrid Cheering Thread - Let's Forget the Bad Stuff and Talk about Tennis Instead
I am so happy!!!!!! My belief in Mariano paid off. I was playing tennis for the first time in two months so, I couldn't watch the sb. But I never doubted he could win. All who think that he was lucky in RG are new to his game. I have been following his career since 1999. Last year when he got back on the tour he played challengers in all the out of way places, such as Tehran and who knows where else amassed points, and was able to get into the main tour. Remember he was finalist in BA and then won Casablanca. He works so hard and with dedication so, I am not surprised that he can bt Mirnyi today. I hope and wish that he will win his next match vs Ferrer, after that
who knows, he might win the tournament. But being realistic, I would say let us take one match at a time.VAMOS MARIANO!!!!!!
