Re: Juan Carlos is #1 in the WORLD!!
Doesn't look good for Ferrero.
At least he's #1, he really wanted it. There will be other grand slam titles, and other finals, even if he doesn't win this one.
Pansy Pandy doesn't deserve an honor like this, so hopefully JC will turn it around.

I just couldn't sleep at night, because of the lost of Ferrero in the finals. The fact that some calls were so unfair, but these things happen. But Ferrero is nr 1 of the world, and nothing can take this away from him!!!!

I admit it - I printed out the rankings so that I could put them on the wall beside my Ferrero shrine

Re: Juan Carlos is #1 in the WORLD!!
It's terrific that JCF got to be number one. I'm glad he did. I like having the young guys at the top. Pretty soon Agassi will retire and the new generation will be in full control of the top of the rankings.

Re: Juan Carlos is #1 in the WORLD!!
Congratulations to Ferrero on this well deserved achievement! I have always liked him a lot and thought he was very talented, not to mention cute! However, a few things which happened at this US Open, including his great play and his great sportsmanship, have lifted him into one of my top favourites. I am looking forward to watching many more years of success from this wonderful player.

Re: Juan Carlos is #1 in the WORLD!!
Hopefully Juan Carlos will be the year-end #1, even though it doesn't really matter to me, it would be good for him in the world's eyes. Winning the two MS titles and the year-end championships would be nice.
Roddick is playing a LOT, but hopefully he'll tire out.

Re: Re: Juan Carlos is #1 in the WORLD!!
You know, if ppl are saying that Roddick not getting enough credit for winning USO, what do you say about Juanqui? At least Roddick is supposed to win USO right from the beginning. No one expects Juanqui to get to the Final. He beat 2 of the best hardcourters in the world and ppl still refused to acknowledge his ability on hard court. Bets already start stacking against him for his ability to compete in the coming indoor season , he is still a claycourter who is not supposed to do well on hardcourt .
Well, to quote what Agassi said after he got beaten by JC: "he did it on clay courts, he did it on hard courts, anyone think differently is their issues, not his". JC is turning into a roadblock for him. JC beat him in last year's TMC to destroy his hope to get to the yearend number 1. JC beat him this year in USO to take the number 1 title from him, both were played on Agassi's favorite surface. I supposed he's taking it personally when the reporter is doubting JC's ability on hard court, if JC is not so good on hard court, what does it say about Agassi losing to him 2 times in a roll?
Anyway, if he doesn't finish as #1 at the end of the year, I don't see he will ever get the respect he deserves . But no matter, whatever happens at the end, no one can take this accomplishment away from him.
