NHL YTD: 4-6 (-3.9 units)
Frustrating loss yesterday with the Kings/Coyotes Over. 5 goals in the first two periods but they couldn't manage one more in the 3rd. Split the day yesterday but was down the juice.
1* Tampa Bay Lightning (-120) Over Florida Panthers
The Lightning win is to win in regulation, OT or shootout. This will be a Florida battle as both teams got of to winning starts in the new season. TB beat Carolina in there home opener 5-2 while Florida shutout Atlanta 2-0 at home. Going with Tampa in this one. They have the more skilled team in this matchup. My concern is the goaltending issue here. Loungo was outstanding in the first game but I think he'll face a stiffer test with a very offensive minded TB team.
1* Pittsburgh Penguins (-140) Over Carolina Hurricanes
The Penguins win is to win regulaton, OT or shootout. Carolina will be starting rookie goaltender Cam Ward this evening. Although he played solidly in the preseason I look for him to have some nerves in his first professional start. He'll face a stiff test in his first game in facing a lineup that consists of Lemieux, Palffy, Recchi, Leclair, Crosby and Gonchar. The Penguins were highly dissapointing in there first game getting schooled by the Devils 5-1. Things weren't much better for the Hurricanes losing 5-2 to the Lightning. I look for the Penguins to get themselves on track here. I think they'll have a much better performance against the Hurricanes.
