Difficult draw. Qualie in the forst round which is the only good news. I hope he doesnt get one of the tougher qualies either. After that its Berdych or Lopez in the 2nd round. Berdych really knows how to play FIlo so this is not good then shoul Filo get through its likely to be Kiefer... so that sucks big time  If he managed to get through all of that its only Federer in the 4th round

Volandri's oppoent is Kristian Pless. number 143 in the world, not a bad player and in the juniors was one of the best back in the day. He got to top 100 but never really improved his level. in 2000 when both guys were 18/19 Pless beat Volandri 60 61, but now 6 years on its a diff. story. That time is the only meeting between the 2, so I hope Filo doesnt have memories of it. Filo should win comfortably in the end with a good match.

Yea Filo won in 3 tough sets!!! I think it was good to have a tough 3 setter. Might give in some confidence in the 2nd rnd.

I am impressed that Pless's ranking is still so high. In fact, "gobsmacked" might be a more appropriate word for it. It would have been a painful loss for Filippo to lose to Kristian, though I am a Pless fan, and wish he would get some form again. Keep up the good work Filippo!

I think the tough 3 sstter is not good. he should really bet Pless with more ease, but a win is a win. So now thats 2 in a row. He has Berdych now though and I have no faith at all in the win.

Filo went down hard in str8 sets. He's had such a poor clay court season I can't imagen what the rest of the year is going to be like.

He lost badly aswell. Back to challengers Filo... then maybe you can gain some form back, but most of all its grass now or Wimbledon anyway and you can just be laid back for a few weeks without pressure.
