What's the name of the club?

Alfonso, restrain your lusty side when you want to come up with a name.

We have to use our imagination to come up with the perfect name for our club... I believe this is a nice job for Mr Creative, Alfonso!

OMG, Lee
don't leave us ... at least pop in once a while....

I didn't read your post that was deleted by the admins (Amanda?), but I know that it can cause troubles if you speak out things that are true. I noticed I made a few enemies doing so over the past, even in the last days.

Especially Guga's forum and Rainer's thread won't be the same anymore without you...

Lee

C'mon girl. I didn't see the post but that GWH story has brought out the worst and best of so many people. I mean, enjoy the good things here and stay away from the bad ones. That tangy war is really and i feel ok with both sides. That i love, i heat is ridiculous. I don't like Coria but I'm not going to jump on star or Jazz 'coz of that. Don't pay attention to them. Well, don't know, maybe my approach to the board is different. You know i'm a closeted gay man and the freedom i enjoy here it's really for me and maybe life has made my skin thicker. I'm not telling u to be "i don't care at all about anyone", just, not take it too hard. Besides, this is Internet. Don't leave us. Just follow the rules and enjoy. You don't know amanda, don't know tangy, don't know me. It was unfair, but it's a virtual forum

Hey Lee,

I really hope you are not going to leave us here! I don't know exactly what has happened (I didn't read the posts you are referring to) but it can never be as bad that you've decided to leave us... Can it?
There are always people on a forum like this that you don't like, or don't like you. For whatever the reason might be. What I do is, I stick to the people that I do like, and that like me to or at least treat me with respect. And I just ignore others that are just here to heat up fires. That can be difficult sometimes, but it's the only way. Don't let others bully you away from the forum!

Please stay with us! This thread won't be the same without you!

Aww Lee, Rainer needs your support! Just put the posters you don't like on Ignore if you get so stressed by what they are posting. I really don't get all the hate that gets unleashed when Coria/Roddick/Nalbandian are playing (and it only seems to relate to them). I'm glad I like the inoffensive German guys!

OH NOOOOO!

Rainer canceled the Tennis Trophy due to injury and will be replaced by Sjeng Schalken!

I just checked the website and I didn't expect that at all....

Quote:

Dutch titleholder of the tele.ring Tennis Trophy in St. Anton am Arlberg took advantage of Rainer Schüttler’s withdrawal due to injury. Günter Bresnik whilst analyzing the participants: „Tommy Haas is my favourite for the KIA Sportage, Thomas Muster in the Seniors’ Event!“

The six-men-draw at the men’s competition of the tele.ring Tennis Trophy in St. Anton am Arlberg contains four top 50 players: Austria’s and Germany’s number 1 and 2 are there as well as shooting star Tomas Berdych and Sjeng Schalken who replaces injured Rainer Schüttler.

German number 1 Tommy Haas is number 1 at the Arlberg. The 26-year-old Bollettieri pupil is for Günter Bresnik – who is responsible for doing the starters’ list at the tele.ring Tennis Trophy in St. Anton am Arlberg – the favourite: „Tommy’s comeback after almost one and a half year of break due to injury was sensational. He is one of the most complete players on the tour – it’s not just his game but also tactics. If he stays fit he is a top ten candidate for 2005.“

Bresnik regards Nicolas Kiefer’s footwork as one of his strongest points. The German who is the current number 2 in the draw will make his tournament comeback after almost three months of mandatory break. „Probably just Federer and Hewitt – no one else on the tour– are moving as well as Nicolas.“ Bresnik on the current number 21 in the worldwide ranking: „There are not even five players that have worked as much as Nicolas – on court and off court. He as well can make it into the top ten in the next year.“

Austria’s number 1 Jürgen Melzer is the current number 39 in the world. „He is definitely the most offensive player in the draw“, Bresnik said. The man responsible for athletes management is impressed by the convincing start into the ATP tour of the man from Deutsch Wagram(Lower Austria): „Whoever manages to reach the top 50 during his first year on the tour can also reach the top 20. And that’s where I expect him in the next year.“ And why shouldn’t there be a first tournament win on ATP level on the way for the 23-year-old? – „with wins over Agassi, Henman or Safin he already proved that he can beat even the big stars.“

ATP newcomer Tomas Berdych had impressed Bresnik even early on in the season: „At the Australian Open he played against Agassi in the second round, coming from qualifying. In the beginning he was nervous, but then he showed his potential. From that match on I wanted to have him at the tele.ring Tennis Trophy in St. Anton am Arlberg.“ Being number 45 in the world the 19-year-old Czech is the youngest player of the ATP top 50. And „when he manages to sort everything out in his head he could be in the top ten by next year“ Bresnik reckons. „If Tomas plays well you don’t even have to compete against him. If he doesn’t catch a serious injury sooner or later he will be a top ten player. I’m absolutely sure.“

Titleholder Sjeng Schalken replaces his opponent from last year’s final, Rainer Schüttler. For Bresnik the Dutch who wasn’t able to tap the full potential due to a mysterious virus illness, is kind of a „tennis thinker.“ „Even today Sjeng thinks about how he will play yesterday’s opponents – that’s what distinguishes him. He plays tennis like chess. The longer a match lasts the more his chances are enhancing because he can always come up with more tactical variations. The 28-year-old who is endowed with one of he world’s best backhands (Bresnik: „He is one of two or three players on the tour who doesn’t have to be afraid of a backhand battle with Agassi“) is one of the secret favourites at the Arlberg.

Austria’s longtime number one Stefan Koubek finished the season in impressive style and showed good form for the tele.ring Tennis Trophy in St. Anton am Arlberg. Just last week he reached the semifinal at the Mauritius Challenger, only losing to the winner Andrei Pavel. For Koubeks Coach Bresnik it’s clear: „Stefan can seem to appear from nowhere and win a tournament – that’s a quality that not many players possess. The second half of the year 2004 gave him that much self confidence that there’s a lot to put past him – the tele.ring Tennis Trophy in St. Anton am Arlberg is definitely a perfect test of form.

In the first-time Seniors’ Event in St. Anton am Arlberg Bresnik regards his successor on the ÖTV Davis Cup Bench, Thomas Muster, as favourite: „Tom is the professional amongst the seniors. Some ATP players in the top 100 would be glad if they were as fit as he is.“ His most dangerous challenger, Bresnik reckons, is Czech Petr Korda, Australian Open winner of 1992: „Petr has great skills. He can come up with whole series of winners – a type of player like Henri Leconte!“

But also Patrik Kühnen – German Davis Cup Captain – of whom Bresnik thinks that the altitude at the Arlberg will suit his game shouldn’t be underrated: „He will probably play serve and volley, this could be dangerous!“ And just last week Bresnik could assure himself in person of the fact that Austria’s Ex Daviscupper Alex Antonitsch is in good form: „Alex was training in the Südstadt with up n’coming talents Philipp Oswald and Martin Fischer. He seemed to be very fit – the crowd can look forward to his appearance!“
