Default Yo Serbs

I have been thinking of doing a small trip in october for a few days with my friends and serbia wasn't on my list but After the floods and the money they will need to build the cities and villages i thought about changing my destination to serbia, so a few bankers, economist and CPA on their way.

I need to know, where's the best location for a hotel in belgrade? if i have a week is it best to stay in belgrade area? how much $ i need to take (without the hotel/flight price)?
any info you can share or tip will be great

Hello Amber. I can't help you much when it comes to hotels. They did open several new, fancy ones all over Belgrade, but if I were you, I'd look for a place in old part of the city. New Belgrade is not very easy on the eyes.
A week is plenty of time for Serbia. We're not a big tourist destination. You have Belgrade restaurants and caffes and a few historical cites, old monasteries and roman ruins, nice mountains, and since you've said you're comming in october, you can go on a wine tour (grape harvesting time) if you're into that stuff.
About the money, food and drinks are relatively cheap here. I just hope you don't keep kosher, or you'll be living on salads for a week.
Have a nice trip.

Kalemegdan is the place in Beograd, with the view on the river, it's awesome!

400$? What are you trying to do, buy Serbia? It's enough.
You'll only be able to see a few destroyed buildings from '99 in Belgrade. Not much else from recent wars.
October can be quite sunny and warm, in the 20-ies. It's rarely cold, but I don't promise anything.

p.s. I forgot to tell you that a law has been passed which forces foreign tourists to visit the tennis courts on Kopaonik mountain where young No1.e picked up a racket for the first time in his life. It's hallowed ground.
Oh, and Fedtards are strip searched by border guards.

400$ will be more than enough I think if you don't plan on going wild shopping

There is a good Military History Museum with indoors and outdoors exhibitions

Also there is a nice Aviation Museum in Belgrade

National Museum is unfortunately currently closed they have been renovating it forever

It shouldn't be cold but it might be windy. That's the main question in Belgrade - is there wind or not...then comes the temperature

I will give you a list of some nice hotels later on, of course it would help if you could provide some sort of your price range.
Otherwise I could recommend www.squarenine.rs/ if money is not an issue Great hotel and location.

Of course, it's better to choose something less expensive. Prices vary and go down to hostels that will be like 10-15e per night, like this one, again it has 9 in the name http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...-Belgrade.html

These are two extremes, I guess you'll be good to find something in the middle, and I will try to recommend something.

Let me buy you dinner in some nice restaurant when you come here. I will PM my phone and e-mail to you, please call me.

Without the hotel/flight, 400$ is ample for a week unless you want to go on a shopping spree, which you better avoid anyway, since Serbia is a poor place for shopping. As for the weather, it's impossible to be sure, both cold and rainy or warm and sunny is possible, it's like a lottery, but last few years the weather in October was mostly fine.

if it is like last october, you can even play tennis outside, on clay.
what is your accomodation budget, people? what do you expect to pay for a room you want to share?
there are also some good apartments to rent if you are staying for a week.

Do you want to stay just in Belgrade? It all depends whether you want to move around and what sort of things interest you. Are you more into castles, medieval monasteries, mountains, cities, or what?

You can bet Djokovic's mom just screamed "Another king is dead" right about now - in the remotest corner - of her bathroom - followed by "The other one is buried." (from tennisplanet.me, following Madrid 2011 Djokovic d. Nadal 7-5 6-4)
