Just wow. Trying to follow Balkan politics regularly, but didn't see this coming. What a schoking suprise, especially after the first round 10 percent gap defeat against in action PM. He's got 4 million more
votes, and made %54,5 while Ponta got 2 of that 6 million votes to take, and failed with %45,5.
Even though, I definitely dismiss the rise of center-right in Europe, and would rather social democrat Ponta to win, only ideologically (since I don't live there), this is clearly huge victory, and must be the lesson for how to be an opposition, and collect those hesitant votes with passion and enthusiasm after the first round failure. I don't know him, his surname seems Greek but turn out to be a German origin, anyway, but I'm sure he was populist as hell during his campaign, which is great and only strategy nowadays politics sadly. Just saw the celebrations on the streats.
Also Ponta said that, he is not resigning, and will serve to new President in the best way for the nation, and congrulated him sincerely. Kudos for great political culture over there you made, Romanians
Good luck in the future.
