Default Masters cup surface

Does anybody know what kind of hard court is Masters cup surface ??

It seems Federer , Hewitt and Nadal have criticized that court for being extremely fast

I don't know what the type but in ATP Calendar appear "Hard Outdoor". Outdoor is more slow than indoor.

I think only if rain they cover the court.

Ignore what it says on the ATP calendar, I don't think they have updated it.
There is another article about the Shanghai stadium on the ATP site somewhere, and it says that the surface is Gerflor (carpet, the same as TMS Paris Bercy).

It will almost certainly be played indoors, i.e. with the roof closed.

Gerflor is the name of the supplier company of surfaces, but the court is Taraflex.

It's the same court as Lyon, Paris, Kremlin cup , St. Petersburg.

Taraflex ( carpert ) will be the Masters cup surface the next 3 years in Shanghai. ( I've just read an article talking about this )

"Criticized" or "observed" it to be fast? i cannot imagine that Roge or leyton criticize a fast court

Where is the source of this?

I see a lot of persons are wondering about my source.

About Federer and Hewitt i can only say that i read an article ( i don't remember where ) where the journalist only said that Federer and Hewitt disagreed with the elected surface . Maybe the journalist was wrong or he has his own sources

And about Nadal , he said in spanish press ( majorcan press ) that to play a masters cup on this surface wasn't positive for tennis due to it would be very difficult to watch nice tennis , since the points would very short cuz the court was extremely fast .

Its just that (speaking for my self), leyton has complained in Melbourne that his own country's tournament has slowed down the surface this year, which is not to his advantage. His best results are on the fast surface, and worst result on slow surface. So this is why I am surprised by "criticized".

I think Lleyton would prefer more a Greenset as the last masters cup in Houston than a carpet . And i would say Federer prefers more a Decoturf than carpet.

I don't think a lot of players in the circuit loves playing on carpet, maybe big servers like this surface but only due to their serve is a great weapon, but i doubt that a lot of big servers really enjoy playing on carpet.

If we made a poll among ATP players surely hard court and clay would be the two favourite surfaces . Grass and carpet i dont' think both surfaces would add up together more than a 20% of votes .

As Federer says, to play well on grass you gotta love this surface as Federer does .
But not all the big servers love grass and carpet, in fact Safin hates grass ( Source about Safin : After his defeat last year in Wimbledon he said it was a twaddle to come back to Wimbledon cuz for him it was almost impossible to play well on grass ...It seems Lundgren has changed Safin's mentality this year )

In my opinion players as Federer, Hewitt and Roddick are more comfortable playing on hard courts ( except rebound ace ) than playing on carpet.
