ATHENS 2004:The event saw its first retirement today when Jonas BJORKMAN (SWE) was forced to quit against Mardy FISH (USA). FISH was leading 7-6, 1-0 when the Swede had to throw in the towel, for the first time in his career, due to a pulled stomach muscle. BJORKMAN, the world doubles No. 1, will hope to recover in time to appear in the doubles event with Joachim JOHANSSON (SWE).

So sorry that Jonas had to withdraw. He said today definitely that he will not
play doubles because of his injury.
I am in Båstad right now and they showed an interview with Jonas on SVT. Of course he was very, very sad, but nevertheless he could laugh a bit again.
Anyway, I am so ledsen for him, because I wanted him so much to win a medal!

Also, if you look at the Olympic Doubles Draw you will see that the Croats are already through to the second round. Too bad for Jonas, and for Pim Pim.
By the way, how do you pull your ab muscle playing tennis?
