Poor old Gambill, what a draw! Interesting if it is a Hewitt-Safin quarterfinal, since they're both in poor form and need to re-establish themselves on the hardcourts. Equally, Kiefer doesn't have a great draw either considering he just lost to Thomann in Indianapolis...

Interesting draw - all the seeds are really strong, Spadea's the last and he's ranked in the Top 40, but there are really no unseeded players of note besides Gambill, Kiefer and Malisse. Oh, and the Changster I suppose, but that's a special case...

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Why so I have, my apologies. In fact, looking at his draw, I reckon he'll beat Grosjean in a sensational upset and then lose to the veteran Ferreira in the next round, much like Fish did at the AO after beating Moya. That's if Ferreira has recovered from his injury, of course...

BTW, where is King Lindsay these days? He's been quiet on Chang entering two consecutive tourneys as a wildcard...
