So if I personally wanted to sign up for one of these qualifying draws would I get in, just because there are no other people to put there, or are there restrictions?

No, you need to have either an ATP singles or doubles ranking.

For the Canadian futures tournament going on right now, it's going to be interesting to see how the players cope with this erratic weather. It's about 30 degrees out right now but SUPER windy, and then by Sunday it drops to 14 degrees!!

Well if you look at some of the low-level challengers like this one. http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2010/603/qs.pdf
You can see that there are a whole bunch of unranked players who got into the draw.

Yeah, but that is a challenger qualifying draw. I'm not sure of the exact rules but I know the rules are different depending on whether it is an ATP or challenger.

Yay! That is good news indeed. Thanks for the update! And yes, his facebook message was vague! lol. Anyway, how is the draw? I'm kinda worried. And did you check out the draw for the 250 in Kuala Lumpur? Milos is playing there, according to his tweet..

Regarding Erik, I sent Tennis Canada an email and got this reply.

Hi Michael,

Leaving Erik out of the article was our oversight. We had not received all of the match results from the tournament desk at the time the article was written and we used what we had. In hindsight we should have double checked to see if Erik had won his match or not. If he wins today, he will certainly be mentioned in tonight's story. We appreciate your interest.

Regards,

Sarah

I noticed on your website you have an article called: "Diez, Duclos and Dancevic Advance to Tevlin Quarters". There is also a fourth Canadian, Erik Chvojka in the quarters. Is there a reason he wasn't mentioned.

Thanks

Michael

Oh.. and btw, it has been windy has hell here today too.. Probably storm. It's probably around 12 degrees, and with a cold wind.. Well, it's not exactly warm. lol. At least it's sunny, considering it rains 300 days a year here. Gotta love living in the rainiest city in Europe... sigh.

Bester continuing his great run in Europe (once again), reaching the semis without losing a set and the number one seed has been knocked out, so maybe a good chance for the final and maybe even a win. The 35 points would get him into the top 300 in the world

Ugh.. why did you do that?

Anyways, he's one of the few Candians who is consistent and is actually doing well. Even with the loss, it's still better than most of the other players. lol.

This guy obviously has a lot of potential, so I'm happy to see him win a few matches

He was a top ten junior at one point. Don't really know if he thought it was going to be easy or what. Maybe it just took him more time to adjust. De Bakker is having his best year this year and he was a top junior in 2006. Some just devellop at different rates.

As for his chances of winning in France, let's be honest, he should win the damn thing.
