Nice win Nico!!! I was thinking the same thing Alonso-that Gaby is making a difference already! He's helping Nico focus and make use of his talent.

So was I I watched this match on TV and could hardly recognise the Nico that played today with the sad, dispirited Nico I saw on our TV playing against Henman in the Masters' a few weeks ago. He had a few tight moments but he didn't lose his head - he focused and he won the match. I think Wawrinka was a bit tired after his marathon against Puerta two days ago, - but take nothing away from Nico (or Gaby!). Congrats to both!!

Re: Nico Does New York, New York
Great win for NICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was a bit tight at first, but the difference between now and pre-Gaby is that while he gets a bit frustrated, he's keeping his cool and hanging in there.
And once he won that first set, he relaxed, started playing more aggressive, and making some good shots. The Chilean fans were there rooting him on, and pretty much everyone else too.
Coria will be tough. Obviously.
But if Nico can keep control of his emotions, I really think that he has a chance.
Gaby knows Coria's game so I'm sure that he's coaching Nico very well right now.
VAMOS NICO!!!
But win or lose, getting to the 4th round at the US Open after such a rough year after only 2 weeks with Gaby is totally and completely awesome! His confidence is semi-back and that for me is one of the most important things.

Re: Nico Does New York, New York
First congrats to Nico and Fena for winning their doubles match. With both of them still in the singles I forget they'er playing doubles as well.
Thanks Nicofan for the report. Nico has a good shot at beating Coria tomorrow esp with Gaby back.
Last but not least, Good Luck tomorrow Nico!!! You can do it-just believe in yourself!!! VAMOS!!!

Re: Nico Does New York, New York
First - I'm so sad that Fernando lost. Now I have to get myself psyched for Nico's match but hard to do thinking of how sad Fernando must be.
Nico really has to win the match against Coria tomorrow - we cannot have two Chilenos beaten by two Argentines on the same court in a 24 hour period. Just can't happen.
VAMOS NICO!!!
Fight fight fight!!!
