What's the deal with the Frenchies and their coaches?
After Grosjean and Monfils, now Paulo splits with Tulasne!

"

It sounds like he wants to work without a coach for the time being.

Thierry I was always afraid that he was going to leave

Paulo hits the bottom now... he has to make a change. But I don't know if this is a good move.

Anyway, I guess being alone could help -- I really wish everything will work out for him. The guy is going to be 25 soon. He has to make something happen, times do fly

I hope he knows he does have fans who do support "him"

According to the "article", it's clearly Paulo who left Thierry. He is grateful for the good work, but prefers to take care on his own of his training and scheduling.

I agree a change might be good, being alone sounds a bit risky though.
But we have complete confidence in Paulo, don't we?

BTW thanks for the article, Truc
It's good to know that it's not what I was afraid of

And yes, we do have confidence in him

De rien!
When he mentions the scheduling thing, it reminded me btw of what he said after his match in Metz. He talked once again about THE match against Nadal, complained that he didn't take a break after RG and mentioned Tulasne in that regard:
(He says he started to play on grass 3 days after the Nadal match. He realizes now it was an error and they didn't talk enough about it with Thierry. This match was very important for him because he was in such a great shape and he would have gone far if he had won it, etc.
Then he says he wants to have a great run in Moscow or Lyon and in Bercy. His goal at the beginning of the year was to be in the top 30 - it's still possible... or maybe not.)

I found worrying that he's still not over this "if I had won that match, I would have won RG" feeling.
He definitely needs a fresh start.

I've always worried about the guy since that DC loss back in 2002!
I remember reading somewhere that he writes down a diary on his pc. And that's not a sign of letting go

Paulo NEEDS to win something as a fresh start, otherwise he'll stuck at "I should have, could have won RG title!" thing!

Yes very worrying. It's a bit strange to see him giving this reason... I mean 5 months later. I can't believe all his recent bad losses are due to the fact that Tulasne made him play only 3 days after RG, or that he is still thinking about this match against Nadal... This is silly...
Paulo should really start to stop thinking about his losses and focus on his objectives.

Actually I am a bit sad that he splitted with Tulasne cos I really appreciate this coach. I don't know if it's a wise decision but I hope he will show good results now.
