Thanks! And thanks for the warning too. I wouldn't have recognized him if the pic wasn't in your photo album.
I had never noticed Devilder is so short.

Do you think that's why he wore a hat?! He's 1.72 m. Not that short
Irina (Hangdog) has got to see this one

The Chtimis are in fact a branch of the Picards, they are normally different from the Flamish (very few in France)but people have the tendancy to believe that the Chtimis are actually all people from the North of France. Concerning the Alsacians, they and the people from Moselle (department of Lorraine) have still their own civil code and holidays as they were not French but German when most of the new laws passed (beginning of the 20th century) and have kept some of the old laws. Actually it's not that bad because Alsace is the wealthiest part of France and Alsace and Moselle's healthcare system is the only one in France not losing money.

But I would compare Alsacians with Basques or Corsicans (maybe even a bit with the far west part of Bretagne where people still speak breton and not gallo) because of the language which is not originally a "French" one. If Paulo could speak Alsacian he then probably can at least a little German as the languages are close. He could probably understand people from the black forest who have a strange German dialect.

To conclude I definitely agree with Paulo, having eaten both real good bouillabaisse in the South of France and real good choucroute in Alsace, I think I would rather have a choucroute (but it's a question of taste).

In l’Equipe today:
Quote:
Cela l’a affecté.

I was very surprised when he says he hadn't realized he's been ranked between 20 and 25 for 6 months already and it's about time to aim at the top 15 and at the top 10. Most of the guys seem so obsessed with their ranking!

He's just like his fans I have learned not to expect anything from him, just trying to enjoy the days he's healthy enough to play matches

But maybe that's the wrong way of thinking... It seems rather pointless when you don't set your goal

In l’Equipe today:
Quote:
Je me suis senti frustré, crispé.
I didn't know he didn’t win one single point on Murray’s first serve. ^^
He's cute when he says the tactic before the match was to make Murray run a lot on his FH side and for some reason he focussed on the BH side during the match...

He had a really bad day in the office yesterday

I don't really understand the arrangement. I thought Mats should work with Paulo in the US Masters Series instead of Dubai

thank you, Fran

L'Equipe asked many French players and coaches (Mika, Seb, Hagel, Malcor, Wino, Escudé, Caujolle + Paulo): "Is the domination of Fed and Nadal over?"

Here's Paulo's answer:
He means Nadal isn't as good as he used to, he noticed it during their match at the AO, Nadal's shots haven't the same depth. Fed hasn't lost his aura yet, Murray would have won in straight sets against anybody else in Dubai. Roger remains a genius, but they get closer.

It's kind of funny when you have 0-7 records against Nadal, Paulo But yeah, agreed with what you said (BTW, stop worshiping Roger, will ya?!)

What did Escude say?

An interview with Patrice Hagelauer about the Frenchies' first matches in IW: http://www.sports.fr/fr/cmc/tennis/2...us_171090.html

Quote:
