I no like the draw

Youzhny is such a tough 1st round match. He can never be underestimated. Then in the second round either Paradorn or Sebastien. Paradorn is really getting his game back this past few weeks. I've seen him on TV in LA and in Washington and he's playing great tennis. And then a possible third round match with Rafael for the third tournament this year (RG, Wimbledon, Montreal). Thank god 3 is my lucky number =)

Hopefully Richard can do well, but I'm really not liking this draw at all.

Grosjean/Niemeyer vs Ferrer/Gasquet

Hmmm....

I have a feeling the organisers wanted to give the WC to a team with a Canadian, so Richard and Seb had to split up. Ferrer's doubles ranking is high enough to get his team in while Niemeyer's team would get in because he is Canadian.

But I wonder why Seb with Niemeyer and Richard with Ferrer.

Because Richard is ranked 19 and Ferrer 21 (= 40). The cut is at 42. With his ranking Seb needed a WC...

Richard is ranked lower than Seb in doubles.

Anyway, it's such a pity that they can play together.

You mean: "...that they CAN'T play together.", don't you?
If so, i agree with you but it's an er...interesting pair that Richard forms with Ferrer. Don't know what it will do on hardcourt...
The funny thing is that now Richard will have to play against Grosjean in doubles instead of partnering him and moreover he may face him again in singles...
He'll be able to remind him who's the French number one now...

I was talking about their ranking in simple.

That's sad that they have to face each other instead of playing together...
Hopefully next time...

Yes. Typo.

Between David/Richard, it's clear who will be mostly at the baseline and who will be mostly at the net.

Yeah, but isn't the entry into doubles based on the doubles ranking? If so, then wouldn't Seb/Ferrer have priority over Richard/Ferrer?

Richard will play this Monday in the central court at 11:00 AM (local time). That shows and confirms his new status.

That only shows Montréal is in Québec which is a Francophone part of the world so maybe they thought he'll be popular there and above all...that shows that someone really wants to make his best so that Richard has to deal with the hardest conditions ever: playing the earliest match in the morning (don't know if he's the type not to like playing early but if he's like Safin for exemple, he could loose the match just because of that...) on the central court (presssure...presssure... )!
I'm even more anxious than i was now...
But he has to win in those "tough" conditions to become a great player so that's normal. He has to do it.
