Yeah, you're right. It was not a good match despite some beautiful points and the fact that Richard was injured, Ancic not playing well and taking so much time between serves gave a weird rythm to it... Overall it was very frustrating because i couldn't help wanting Richard to try to win it and not litteraly gave it to Ancic as he did and playing a lot more badly than usual but he tried to do things he never does usually so that was still pleasant...But it was hilarious during Richard's serves for sure...
Why Santoro feels he has to promiss he'll partner Richard in doubles?

Yes, I was a bit surprised by the word "promise" too... like it would be an honour to play with Santoro But it was not a quote from Santoro actually.

i have to say i like tots draw alot better than the rest of my boys (andy v robby rd 2 why they do they hate me )
it is possible that donald could get his first tour win in rd 1 (depending who the qualifier is) so tot could have young in rd2.

Re: ~*~ Hardcourt Season: US Open ~*~
That's Richard who wants to play with all of them, Marine! He needs doubles experiences. And Forget asked all the potential DC players to practice doubles as much as they can, remember? I even think he's the one who asked Santoro to "promiss" he'll play with the youngsters...
That's good if he has the opportunity to play with such a "doubles specialist" as Santoro. They may even end up winning something if they take it seriously. I read they get on well. Richard is almost "gérontophile" in his friendships, it seems except for the friends he has in his club... (He doesn't mind/likes being around old guys comparing to him, don't you think? I don't know where this comes from...).
Do you think that it's a good sign or a bad sign that he's seeded 13 for the USO?
Are some of you supersticious like me?
I'm just hoping that he'll be able to play the USO right now. Because even injured he could snatch a few wins and gain some very precious points...But we can't hope for a great run this year considering the current conditions. It's a shame that such a "good" draw for him could be "wasted" but since he's injured...

You're right Marine: Llodra is "grave"...
"Masters in sight for Santoro-Llodra
Currently ranked 9th at the Race and still fighting for a place at the Masters, Santoro and Llodra qualified for the semi-final in which they faced the Zimbabwean pair Black-Ullyet in the middle of last night. During their quarterfinal against Huss-Moodie, Llodra could be seen behaving as his usual self, gaining a burlesque warning at the very end of the match. As one of his friends in the stands was teasing him, he send in the direction of the joker a ball that he hit too hard and that landed...on the legs of an old American lady...Ready to separate from his turbulent partner, Santoro promissed that, before the end of the season, he'll try to participate in a tournament associated with Monfils in doubles and in another one partnering Gasquet."

I am supersticious as well Delsa but 13 is a lucky number...
Btw thanks for the translation of the article, I was a bit lazy!
Good luck Richard
This si not a bad draw. Hopefully, he will have recovered from his injury *crossed fingers* and will take advantage of this draw.

Re: ~*~ Hardcourt Season: US Open ~*~
I saw the draw this morning and was actually pretty happy with it compared to other Richard draws. I'm a bit nervous about the arm injury but hopefully it will be fully healed by the time he has to play his 1st round match. I mean his 1st round match might not be until Wednesday so that's a long rest (Why the US Open spreads the men's 1st round matches over three days is beyond me.)
Allez Richard
