He lost 6/4 7/6, he has an arm injury, he couldn't serve normally.
That was a boring and lowwwwww match. (Ancis used to take 40 sec betwwen each point !!)
Spectators were bad, I don't know if I'm paranoiac or what but they I had the impression they cheered more ancic than richard, applauding his aces and not richard's amorties !
That's a pity, Richard was much better than Ancic, he even humiliated on some points...

He served only 2nds....
He had many winners with drop shots but I am afraid that his injury could be serious.

Ancic didn't play his best tennis so Richard may have not retired seeing he still could have some chances... But the injury was bothering a lot on his serves...

I just hope it's not too serious and that he will recover soon.

You mean he served his first serve like his second serve or he missed a lot of first serves?

Anyway, it must be quite embarrassing for Ancic to only break an injured Richard 3 times.

Exactly. His first serves were actually hit like seconds. Ancic was very angry cos yes, he didn't take advantage of this.

Richard managed to hit great shots (many dropshots, a dropshot on serve, an amazing lob...) which made Ancic a bit nervous. The commentators said "Il le ridiculise là"...
He hold well in the 2nd but it was obvious that he couldn't play properly because of this injury.(I was like "Come on Richard!!! Retire)

Btw, he was in the crowd during Paulo's match. He was smiling and didn't seem to be so "affected" by his loss.

Take some rest and recover well Richard!

L'Equipe

Ok, merci Ayane.
