Are those girlie thongs  (in Holland we say strings, is that the international name as well?). Don't give andy any ideas.
And although I love the colours of the Lacoste shirts I still can't get used to Andy wearing Lacoste. It somehow does not match his personality.

They are known as G-strings and thongs.
I was in Australia last week and a friend who lives over there said she played golf wearing thongs! They call flip flops as thongs in Aussieland. Can you imagine the confusion if an Australian guy goes to the US and asks for a pair of "thongs" for the beach? |

Crazy Ozzies, that's how those gay rumours roll in.
In Holland we call flip flops 'slippers' and a 'slip' is also men underwear (briefs). And a 'string' is a thong, or slippers, or flip flops, or underwear; see, when you name it, people will understand what you mean eventually.
Oh, and the Lacoste thingie: shirts also one size too big for Andy, but I love the colours of the shirts, especially the blue and baby blue.

yeh we do call em (flip flops) thongs - but strangely enough there's never any confusion here
