Hmm... it's hard to know what to make of their (Ferrero-Coria) H2H record. At the moment, it's 2-2. This is from the ATP website:

Quote:
2005 ATP Masters Series Monte Carlo, Clay
Coria 2 6 5 7
2005 Australian Open, Hard
Coria 3 6 2 6 1 6
2003 Monte Carlo TMS, Clay, F
Ferrero 6 2 6 2
2002 Roland Garros, Clay, R32
Ferrero 6 2 6 3 6 3
It seems they never have close matches. Either JC wins easily or Coria wins easily.

I missed their first 3 meetings but I saw their Monte-Carlo match earlier this year. He seemed to start slowly and never really got going in the 1st set. Then, in the 2nd, he went 4-0 up . But then he seemed to for some reason and lost 5 games in a row . I know Coria played quite well but I'd like to think that had JC been playing his best, he would have taken that 2nd set and gone on to win the match.

The problem with Coria is that, when he gets on a roll, he's impossible to stop. He has the ability to win many games in a row or loose many games in a row. Even against Nadal, in the final of Monte-Carlo, he won 6 games in a row in the 3rd set. If Juan Carlos is 6-0 5-0 up against him, he cannot take his foot off the gas because Coria could win many games back-to-back.

WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID:

Ferrero: "I am very happy with the way things are going. I played very solid from the beginning, and I am feeling really well. I am playing very well and hopefully I can be back at the top pretty soon."

"The court and specially the ball is pretty slow. But it is very good for me."

"Coria is going to be very tough. Already in quarterfinals!!! He played really good today against Mantilla, and if I want to win I will need to be very aggressive. It is going to be a very interesting match."

Congrats to Juanqui
At least he has bigger chances of winning the tournament than Novak did.
Now please Juanqui, just Guille
I think I'd start to hate him again if he beats Juanqui

That means the conditions are very similar to Monte-Carlo, where the court and the ball are also very slow. Hopefully JC will get going right from the start this time.
Should be great tennis to watch.

No it's NOT fine if Guille wins... if Guille wins again vs. Juanqui, Juanqui will become his pigeon. Juanqui NEEDS this win and the title too...

VAMOS, JUANQUI!!!

Juanqui has to win this match tomorrow. It's about time he gets a win over a top 10 player other than Marat.
