Great play from both player,
Andy played brilliant
Rafa shows why he is the king of the clay, he fighted back when 2 break at the last set.

Andrew looked like he aged about 5 years in the third set.

Insane match. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Andy's level in the first set was unbelievable. The second set was alright; some good tennis. The third set.....fucking intense! Insane topsy turvy shit with brilliance sprinkled throughout. It's a shame Andy ran out of steam at the end but holy fuck I don't even care he lost. Epic match...credit to Nadal for hanging in there. His stamina is fucking insane at times...and credit to Andy for continuing to tough it out until he had nothing left. Best I've seen him play in ages which is a great sign....

Fuck...this match!

Murray ran out of gas and the end was uncompetitive. Hopefully Dimitrov can end this nonsense joke in the next round.

Same old story for Murray this year, running out of gas in the third against anyone in the top15. He had two relatively easy matches before this too, barely played last week, and didn't play Barcelona.

Why should he be. He took an average of 30 seconds between his serving points, and Murray reciprocated today.

Default Re: Rome QF: [1] Rafael Nadal Parera def. [7] Sir Andrew "Clayray" Murray OBE 1-6 6-3

good match overall, although abysmal from Nadal in the 1st set

what I find most interesting about this match is how BAD Nadal's forehand was yet how GOOD his backhand was

this is one of the few cases in which I think Nadal won the match because of his backhand being SO solid

good match from Murray considering the circumstances, he did fantastic at switching to an fro, from defensive to offensive tennnis

Nadal in the second and parts of the 3rd looked a bit like his old self, very focused and like an animal in terms of intensity

unfortunate ending of the match but the third set had a lot of superb points. Nadal will probably make the final but it would be a tough task to expect him to have the energy to beat a wayyyyy fresher Djokovic (most likely) there. good luck to Murray at RG, at least its apparent physically he is back to his normal self and there are no noticeable back problems
