Baseball and softball dropped from the Olympic Games 2012 by the IOC.

First time that a sports was dropped since 1936.

One of the fastest growing sports worldwide was dropped from Olympic competition in 2012 despite some stupid clay pigeon shooting or archery events were allowed to stay in.

Not only it was a blow below the belt for especially the USA, it was also a big loss for women's sports that the IOC originally agreed on to support and to boost, rather than to drop.

IOC = idiots on crack

anyway, I hope these sports will be back again for 2016 and that Japan and USA win Gold in these events in China

But what an incredibly anti-American and misogynist decision

Why can´t they include Rugby in the Olympic?
At least sevens, they are very popular and I think It should be there....

I never follow Baseball or Softball, but I don´t think its ok....because a lot of people does...

I'm dissapointed softball and baseball were dropped form the Olympics in 2012. But why wait until then when the 2008 Olympics are 3 years away? There are so many sports that should be dropped from the Olympics before softball and baseball that's for sure.

I'm actually more upset about softball being dropped than baseball because the girls and women's climactic softball event is the Olympics. But that's not the case with baseball whose climactic event is the World Series.

rugby 7's is the frontrunner to replace baseball in London Olympics

I think the Olympics have grown far too large. Who needs baseball, soccer, tennis, basketball etc., when these sports have enough exposure? They should return to the purity of the original games.

BTW, yesterday with the MLB Homerun Derby was a great display of how international baseball is.

8 participants who swung for the fences and they came from 8 different countries.

Bobby Abreu from Venezuela had a record setting performance and he hit balls out over the facade of the stadium.

Rugby sevens should've been included in the 2012 program.
