Re: Jeremy Chardy
Oh, Margareta, I fully understand you.
Jim won the first set, 6-3! His first serve percentage kind of low - only 52 %, 3 aces, no doubles and no BPs.

Reason: my apologies, no breakpoints on his serve throughout the whole set (and match as well)

Re: Jeremy Chardy
Great win. If he plays like this against Wawrinka then i fancy his chances. It would be great to get a few points here and possibly be a seed for Roland Garros. He'll probably just about miss out though, which could prove bad depending on his draw. A seeding would be so much better towards defending his points.

Re: Jeremy Chardy
Well done Jimcha
Doesn't he deserve his own forum? Thoughts please. I'm ready to start a request thread.

Re: Jeremy Chardy
I had a look at the rankings, i think Jerely has a good enough chance of scraping a seeding. He is currently #40 and a second round here would push him to about #36, depending of course on players going up or down. I count at least 3 pàlayers before him in the rankings who will miss it, Monfils, Nalbandian and Gasquet. We'll have to wait and see of course.

Re: Jeremy Chardy
Thanks for the Madrid update/pics Fran, enjoy the rest of your time there!
Nadine, there is already a request thread for a Jeremy forum. We sure could do with one, this thread is getting busy.
Great win today Jeremy! As for the next round, I just hope for a great contest (sucks for me that my 2 main faves left are meeting this early). I guess Jim needs the win more, I would like him to be seeded going into RG..

sets in Roland Garros, so I hope not to win the first two sets this time. (Smiling.)

Re: Jeremy Chardy
OMG What a scoreline So impressive.
I think Acasuso > Wawrinka on clay, really. But Wawrinka is a smarter player, so as a match-up for Jérémy he might be tougher.

Re: Jeremy Chardy
So Chardy's match is at 12pm tomorrow, Court 5.
This is my most anticipated match of this tournament and they're going to have no cameras.
Allez Jeremy.

Re: Jeremy Chardy
I think Wawrinka will be a lot tougher than Chucho!
But Jérémy was playing very well today, he looked totally in control and Chucho gave up pretty soon too. The people next to me were very impressed by Jim.
Sorry I'm too tired for match reports now, I only uploaded a few pics of the matches and trainings I've seen today, there are some of Jim too (training with PHM in the morning and then his match):

I have more pics of most players, I'll sort them out later. I'm back in Berlin already.

Re: Jeremy Chardy
His reaction after his win:
http://www.welovetennis.fr/masters-m...a-jose-acasuso
I agree with his comments on the "Caja Magica"! (He says he doesn't like the venue at all, only concrete everywhere, the courts are not good, there isn't much positive to say, to be honest.)
Yesterday was a bit better because there were more people around, so it was lively and noisy and felt more like a Masters 1000 event. It helped to forget about the venue.
As for the match, his FH and his serve were working fine, so he was never in danger. He says in the interview Chucho always looks so lifeless, it's just his way to be, but I did find Chucho particularly weak yesterday, he didn't put up a big fight, really. The last point was quite significant, Jim won with an ace or a service winner, I don’t remember if Chucho touched the ball, but the serve looked definitely wide, the guy next to me also thought so and Chucho looked at the mark with an expression saying "OK, guys, that serve was out, but never mind, let's put an end to this misery" and went to the net for the handshake.
It was amusing because Jim is even slower than Chucho between the points, which is quite an achievement. It’s his way to stay focused during the match, I guess, I was very impressed by his concentration, but it was driving me crazy to see him move in slow motion like that. I was comparing them when they went back to their chair for the changeover and Chucho was reaching his chair first (although he was dragging himself on the court like he always does)!
