It's qualies time, I wouldn't recognize the likes of Golubev, Balleret and Smirnov either!
Jim plays Monaco in the 1st round, it will be their 1st match.
And he was supposed to play doubles with Paulo, but he's playing with Gilles again. Davydenko-Marach in the 1st round.

Re: Jeremy Chardy
Saw him again practising today, rather early, with Benneteau and Gicquel, Gicquel by far the best of the bunch.

Re: Jeremy Chardy
He loooked motivated, but too impatient in the first set and too inconsisent in the second. And Monaco is one of those dull claycourters hitting everything back and making few mistakes.

Re: Jeremy Chardy
He said he was sick.
Bad timing, but he has played a lot, a couple of free days won't harm, he was not his usual self today.

Well, that was not obvious to see. At least not for me, but I have not seen him that often. Yep, he wanted to finish points, but I think that is his style anyway. And after the poor practise, I expected worse.

Re: Jeremy Chardy
That was more information than we needed, Jim... L'Equipe doesn't give more details about his expectorations, sorry, the journalist just says there was no doubt he was sick indeed as soon as he opened his mouth in the post-match interview (a "terrible cawing"). And Jim confirms the reason for his bad match in Houston, he had been told just before the match that his grand-father is dying and his mind wasn't into tennis at all. He says he's feeling well otherwise. The journalist also says that given the circumstances, he didn't play that badly in the 2nd set.
CHARDY SANS VOIX. – Zut alors ! »
