I too can imagine that, but I'm not sure thats a reason, because sebs a professional (I think he can handle that kind of pressure), and Seb said it didnt in that DC interview..

Yes thats his goodright.. I totally agree with this.. He HAS too..

But Arnaud doesnt have results like Seb in the most important tournaments, the grand slams.. Not even close, with the exeption of AO 2001

Why?

Marine, whats for you more important, DC or Grand Slams? Just wondering..
To be honnest, Lizan, for me DC is very very important. It's much more than a simple competition. I'm french, maybe it's a question of culture.
DC's memories are ones of the reasons why I love the french players. It's in these moments I can see other than normal selfish players.
I'd prefer Seb wins a grand slam than another DC final, but I like to see him in the team.
And I can also understand his reasons.
In short, I still love him.

The thing which makes me sad about Seb withdrawing from the french team is that Guy Forget was very disappointed by Seb. I hope it won't break their good relationships (as it happened between Forget and Santoro).

I think that even without Seb they (Richard, Paulo) can win their match againt Russia.
I just hope Forget will call Seb again for the DC in the future.

I hope too. But Guy and many other people are legitimately getting tired of his repeated withdrawals. So i wouldn't put money on it.

I think Forget is very disapointed about Seb because h eloves him. He's not furious, that's the difference between Seb and Fabrice.
Forget always loved Arnaud and Seb (c'est ses 2 chouchous) and I can understand he feels betrayed, he always said Davis cup requires lots of sacrifices and Seb doesn't want to make these sacrifices, like does Safin for example. More a player is high ranked, more he has to be selfish. That's hard to admit for Forget.
But I don't think it will make polemics like it did with Santoro. But I'm sure Seb won't be at ease to reach the team the next time, it's not the second time he lets the team at the last moment.

A good video which can explain DC's magie.

I know he really thinks what he said. I can understand Forget. He loves his players, I know he's disapointed. He was very disapointed about Mauresmo the last year when she renonced to play the final of the fed cup, cos he's very close but after he forgot and their relationships are veru good again.

Summary: Guy says that he learned the news from Seb the morning after his Wimbledon QF loss when they had breakfast together, that of course he's disapointed because he likes Seb and he would have liked to continue the DC adventure with him and because the team is weaker without him on paper but that there will be other opportunities to do that again with Seb...
He says that the first thing he asked him to do was to call his friends and teammates to tell them the news and explain his decision to them what Seb did immediately and to manage by himself with the press to announce it. He says he doesn't want to focus on this but on the players who are there, those who have a chance to proove themselves because of Seb's absence and on making all he can so that they could win...

oh yea I read that Gasquet gonna take over Seb's position in DC (Seb was a kinda leader in the team!?) and be the one to lead the French team.

and I just found that Roddick had switched from Reebok to Lacoste... like how Seb did!!!
