ANDY RODDICK: Motivation? No. I enjoy what I do. I enjoy what I do. You know, I've never been one to, you know, blow off practice or, you know, do anything like that.
You know, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to practicing the next two days as opposed to playing here. That part is gonna suck...(2010 Aegon Championships)

Re: Spurs NBA champs!!
Congratulations Spurs. They are deserving champs. I am only irritated by everybody licking Duncan's fucking balls, and constantly insisting he 'is the best power foward to ever play the game'. You know there was a man by the name of Karl Malone, who scored well over 30000 points in his career, that is deserving of this title. He truly defined the word 'power foward'. Duncan is weak, and doesn't have the post skills that Malone had. And then to give him MVP on top of that I mean look at his stats, not exactly MVP caliber stats; he shot 10-27 from the field, turned the ball over and really didn't prove to be a clutch player the whole series; he was exposed. I cant stand Parker either; he is overrated. Its a shame, the MVP should have been given to Ginobli or Horry. I mean fucking Horry bailed them out in game 5 with that 3 pointer. Without Horry's heroics, the Spurs dont win this series, period.
This was a painful loss for Detroit, they had a 9 point lead in the 3rd quarter and let it slip away. They had this game, and they let it slip. Its unfortunate Detroit coulden't win this; I would've loved to see (Ben) Wallace hoist that MVP trophy as he was certainly a deserving canidate. LOL, after watching Parker kiss the O'Brien trophy, I'm sure 'Sheed was like 'Man we have to win this thing again next year.'

Re: Spurs NBA champs!!
Fedex: Duncan IS great. Not Ginobili, Robinson, Parker, Elliot brought the quick and big turnaround when they joined the Spurs in the past, it's nobody else than Duncan who came to the Spurs and who won the first Franchise title a few years later, a 2nd after that and finally a third one.
You want to make Horry an MVP for the finals? Yes, he was big in the clutch moments and Duncan couldn't deliver as well as he usually does, but overall it's still Duncan who was the leading scorer and rebounder of the series and the highest ranked player of both teams over the complete playoffs in these two categories, not to forget that the numbers of the all decisive game #7 were in his favour also. Duncan posted nothing but double doubles in this series.
Horry as MVP? simply no! Only Ginobili was in position to win this award deservedly...
Sure, Malone was maybe the ultimate power forward in the league who delivered consistently for almost two decades and who was most impressive with Stockton. Just no Championship rings. As for the definition of "Power Forward", I'm thinking of Charles Barkley also (one of my favourites in the past).

Re: Spurs NBA champs!!
Congrats!
I wonder how Horry could play such a crap for the Lakers in his last year there.
I hope it was was the worst season for years now. Next year is a Lakers year! I don't know how they want to win their games, but I just hope they will do it.

It took him 27 shots to come up with 25 points. He didn't really make clutch shots down the stretch in any of the games against Detroit, shot 41% for the series, and also made costly turnovers, and couldent buy himself a free throw in games 4-6 . The only thing he did really well in the series was rebounding, other than that Detroits big men had his number. He's had a great career and a great reputation, but he didn't get the job done against Detroit. Thank god, for him, that Ginobli, Horry, etc bailed him out.
But overall I have to give props to the Spurs. They played better in game 7, and deserved to win. Thats where homecourt really becomes an advantage, in game sevens. This is where Detroit will need to work harder next year, to get that homecourt, so game 7 is played in their building. They made a valiant effort, but in truth, winning back to back game sevens on the road(miami & SA) is nearly an impossible task.

Re: Spurs NBA champs!!
Duncan finally made free throws and hit his patented off the glass shots.
Bowen made clutch three pointer.
Duncan pretty much took over the tempo of the game in the 4th and deserved the MVP.

It wasn't just Horry. The whole Lakers squad played horrible, especially in the finals.
Kobe will have new talent around him this year.
Horry should seriously re-think he proposition with LA and come back next year.
It would be his 7th NBA title breaking MJ's record.
