Default Mubadala 1st Round (3) Ferrer beat (5) Wawrinka 7-5 6-1

Next he plays Nadal. Anyone else seeing anything other than a Djoko-Rafa final?

Pathetic from Stan, but we're used to that. Ferrer will probably accept Rafa's tank

Default Abu Dhabi - Ferrer def. Wawrinka 7-5 6-1

Wow, quite a great Ferrer out there.

I'm not the biggest fan of the guy, but he seems to be finally improving his game in the way i'd like it better - hitting more winners from the baseline.

Usually he'd grind you down till a short ball comes to finish the rally, while now he'd hit some awesome winners from baseline off both wings, which i defo like.

Keep it up David!

From 5-3 up, Wawrinka couldn't find the court
Ferrer stepped up his game too though, forehand started to fire in the 2nd set

Ferrer was awesome actually, hitting winners from the baseline, which is smth new.

p.s. i don't understand why those threads should be kept in the basement instead of GM. We've been waiting so long for some real tennis and this is a real as any. It's not like Djokovic/Serena vs. Nadal/Sharapova in Asuncion...

Wish this was available here! Sounds like ferrer looked good, not surprised he arrives in better form, let's hope stan doesn't just be satisfied with 2013, and go back to old self.

Ferrer played really aggressive tennis and the courts are very fast,he could take it to Nadal tomorrow. I'm hoping he does. If he goes down playing the kind of tennis he played today, there's nothing to regret.

Wawrinka was just Wawrinka: when he was serving for the 1st set at 5-3 he preoceeded to lose 9 straight games... Stan

Ferrer with an all-out assault. Stan was in exho mode. Even more than Murray was.
