Tsonga will not win a slam. Next.

No need to aim your sights that high Willy my boy. I'd be perfectly happy if you demolished Dull at the AO. Gotta take it step by step.

I personally doubt these players could win a slam: Ferrer, Berdych, Tsonga. They are consistently in the top10 for many years, but they just don't seem to be able to win 7 matches in a row. Their careers are quite similar to Haas and Nalbandian.

Tsonga's poor play in Roland Garros this year was disappointing - I was hoping he would make it to the final, and I assume he would give a tougher challenge to Nadal (perhaps winning a set from him, before losing in 4 sets).

For the 5 slamless top 10 players (Ferrer, Berdych, Tsonga, Gasquet, Wawrinka), who has the best losing records against the big 4?

I would rank the chance of the current top 10 players to win reach a GS singles FINAL in 2014 as follows (from highest to lowest):

Djokovic = Nadal > Del Potro > Federer > Murray (I still think he needs time to recover and will make a big impact again in 2015) > Tsonga > Wawrinka > Berdych > Gasquet > Ferrer

I would remove federer until he proves other wise, Murray ahead of delpo, then it comes down to surfaces, wawrinka at AO, ferrer at RG, tsonga at W , Raonic at USO .

Agreed. I'd add Wawrinka to the pack.

But, that ws until today. I exclude Ferrer from this group for this new season, as he's very constant, he's always up there and there were just a few changes he should do in order to get closer.

After watching his today match against Stan, it looks like he's starting to go in the right direction.
It's early to call it, it's an exho, it's the first match of the year, etc., but if what i saw is actually a trend and smth he's been working on this off season, smth he'd try to further apply - i'd jut love to see him engage Nadal or Murray in a Slam semi. I would watch it with a new found emotion, not the usual "he'll get destroyed anyways" kind of boredom.

As for Tsonga - i don't see it happening, i just don't. It feels to me that he'd need a real program, with at least 3 notorious specialists in every department of the game.

In his position it's not just - i feel more motivated than ever...

Not gonna happen, keep dreaming Tsonga, I could bet my whole paycheque that he's gonna go Slamless in 2014, that's how confident I'm about his mugginess.

MTF complains that the same guys win everything, its boring and predictable.

So a player says he can't win, and people are happy because he is realistic?

Then a player says he believes he can win and people say he is out of his mind and delusional?

WTF, MTF.
