Pete lost to Mucho in 3 sets. Only one more event and then he come back to Australia, the season had ended a while ago.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!
It's not over yet, Pete qualified for ATP 500 Basel overnight with a three set win. He faces Jan Hernych in the first round which is pretty good considering all the other first round match ups. He has already gained 20 points this week and can pick up 65 if he beats Hernych in the first round. That should mean he'll finish inside the top 80 at the years end.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!
Matchu, try making a post without relating something to ranking, it's boring. We know where to find the info on that.
Hernych, not the worst draw.

Considering he could of had Federer or Karlovic, he would be very pleased with Hernych. Hope he could sneak a win here, a match with Djokovic in the 2nd round possible.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!
Pete actually beat Hernych in AO qualifying earlier this year in straight sets.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!
Pete didn't play Hernych at the Aus Open qualies, he played Coelho and Ascione, before losing to Odesnik.
The indoor hardcourts aren't the bounciest surface around, but hope he can serve well and take his chances.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!
Completely my mistake, sorry. It was Sydney ATP qualies I was thinking of.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!
Pete lost to Hernych in straight sets, he should be able to come home to Australia, with the knowledge that he has secured direct entry into the AO.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!
I didn't expect him to lose in straight sets to Hernych considering the poor form that Hernych has been in lately but he still did a good job to qualify. Will Paris be the last tournament of the year for him?

Yes, he is playing Paris qualies next week. Hopefully he can maybe get a couple more points to finish in the top 75. I'm sure he would be extremely happy with that result if it was the case.
