Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!
Such a big jump now to 113 in the world. So big is his jump that should he win this challenger tournament he is in this week, where he would be the raging favorite, he will jump into the top 100 again! I really hope he can finish this year in the top 100 but that 140 points at the end of the year will be a real bitch to defend.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!
Worrying about rankings at the moment is irrelevant. If Pete plays well and gets the results, then the rankings look after itself, the goal is to finish inside the top 100 at the end of the season, that is achievable but still a way to go.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!
yeah and he doesn't have to defend them till October. In the meantime he has no points to defend.

Hence got to build a buffer zone, just hope he goes back to South America, better off playing there, then the other events.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!
Pete's got plenty of time between now and then to get ranking points and solidify his current ranking.

How is worrying about rankings irrelevant if your on the verge of going from challengers to ATP? I know your taking the Pro look on it that results are whats important and rankings dont matter but truth is rankings are very important right now and could determine where Pete will be playing for the rest of the year.
I mean if Pete does crack the top 100 after this week I can't see why he wouldn't try and enter the ATP hard court tournaments in Asia, more specificly Malaysia or Thailand. Then he would be able to finish his year off with a couple of challengers in asia like Korea. But then if he doesn't crack it soon then he would almost certainly play the South American challengers again.
I personally think Pete will finish the year inside the top 100. GL in Tampere champ.

Event in Bangkok usually boasts strong field... perhaps, too strong for Pete.

If I'm not mistaken, those challengers in Far East are on hard. Pete prefers to play on clay.
Yes, results are more important than rankings.

He has played ATP events before, this is not new to him. It's the practical attitude, especially after what happened last time he was in the top 100, playing for months with a stress fracture of the pelvis, because he made it there and didn't want to sacrifice playing the events, that he worked hard to reach that he wasn't able to make the best use of it.
There is a big challenger in San Marino next week and that is more important than this one. Fact is that he is better on clay and will stick to those events, and since he won't be playing Davis Cup in September, he should be able to get into Bucharest if all goes well.
Worrying about rankings is clownish, because the matches still have to be played and won, it's just unnecessary pressure, when playing the respective opponent is enough to focus on.
Funny how many people appear here now he is on the verge of the top 100.

I fell in love with Pete at Athens challenger three months ago... back then, he was ranked No.175.
Guess that you have portrayed me as a callous opportunist.

Pete is a very likeable guy, though I don't think Cat wants any more kids for the moment.
