What a dreadful two days of results for the Aussies. Three losses and not a decent performance among them. Looch and Gooch will struggle to qualify next week on this form, and lleyton better hope for a kind draw. Whay can't any of our guys string a set of results together outside of Oz. I don't think anyone, apart from Hewitt, has reached even a semi-final out of Oz since Arthurs won in Scottsdale in 1005. Am I wrong?

Looch got rolled by Moodie. He may sneak into the Miami MS if there's a few withdrawals, but on this form what's the point?

did either of you watch this match? And if not then how can you say his form is bad? On what do you base this? Was he moving bad in his match, did h get broken time after time? there were 2 points that decided the match and he was pretty screwed on both of them. He got broken the first game of senond set after losing the tie break from a chocking call. He couldn't regein composure after the dissappointment, also when he got broken (the only brake n the match) it was on a unsure lines call where no call was made, the umpire said deuce and then said oh no corretion game moody. Try to imagine what that what feel like. He got back and had a couple of break points on moodys serve but moodys serve was unbelievable on the day. I did see the match and there is nothing you can do agaist a guy who smacks nown aces even on 2nd serves. Maybe some support instead of all this negative energy would help. The guy has a career high of 69 and you are talking about him and gooch being in bad form....They both are doing wel and hopefully they can both get into the top 50. Look at Darcis who came from nowhere and all you need is that one lucky break...

imo looch is absolutely dog meat on hardcourt. no wonder he took so long to make it, he spent most of his early years on the tour playing the us challenger circuit.

i doubt he's ever gonna get much higher than 50 so when it comes to tournaments like these, instead of playing them he should go to the clay challengers. is that a crazy idea?

What are you talking about? Is his favourite surface clay? Yes. Has he reached the Aussie open 3rd twice? Is that on hard court? Yes. Sometimes I wonder about you guys. Do u actually check results or do u just blurt things out cause they sound good? And if you are direct entry into MD Master events, why not play them? Do you know what price money is first rd....And also who doens't spend most of their early years on the challenger tour? You do know he went to college before starting his career.. Please stay out of here if you have only negatives to say. Maybe you missed the title Cheering thread!! and not diss thread..

Have nice day

He's a hack and should retire, yes I am joking about that comment.

Consigliere, you are talking out of your arse. He is top 100 and should be playing all the big events he can, if he wins great, if not, then as long as he puts in his best, then that's good enough. Rankings have a habit of looking after themsleves.

guys, I agree this should be a supporting thread, but you can't say that was a good performance by Pete by any stretch. Dress it up how you like, but the fact is he lost to a guy who has barely won a match all year...Moodie's been beaten by Sirianni and Sam Groth this year AND he got hammered in his next match here. If you're going to hassle everyone who expresses disappointment and frustration when he loses matches he should win, you're going to find yourself posting to yourself before long. Should we change this to the "patronise pete" thread?

All those points coming up to defend is a bit concerning though, moodie is not the type of guy pete would like to play i would think on a hard court but you would hope pete would win espically after siranni killed him in dubai.

Can't blame pete trying to qualify though, IW and Miami are big events and pete has qualified for IW once before, he can play on hard.

it's not about patronising. look at the stats http://www.protennislive.com/framese....atptennis.com it was one of those matches where moody managed to serve down aces on every tight spot he was in, Pete had so many break points, but what do you do against aces? Yes on paper Luczak should have won, but that is not always reality, so then to come out and say that he is such a bad form is what I reacted to. Moody had a good day, and had great luck on line calls on those 2 crucial points. That's all i'm saying and that I would prefer if people like consigliere or what ever the name is would keep out if he/ she has nothing but negos to say. He can post on gooches thread where he always shows support, no matter the loss, and keep out of here.

I saw the stats when he played. He served badly and Moodie earned double the amount of break points, and he's not a great returner. Yes, Moodie has a good serve, but everyone else he's played this year has tamed it easily. The thing I've noticed with Pete is that he doesn't change his game when he moves from clay to hardcourt. He still stands well back when returning serve which means he's susceptible to swinging serves on the forehand (I bet that's where Moodie aced him most) and he also stands too far behind the baseline during the point, which puts him on the back foot straight away.
