seb's match against malisse was on last night and he was playign terribly...he just didn't seem to be concentrating well at all and maybe it was coz it was just so windy, but still he was looking like he was hitting the ball without thinking. considering malisse was injured, he wasn't even dominating the second set and even though he won it, he should have won it a lot easier--he would never have won the match if malisse didn't retire injured.

hmm that sounds really harsh on seb but i really hope he will play better on friday. Good luck against Philippoussis!!!

It was his first match of the year, maybe that explains it.

Esther with a bit of luck you will still see him on Monday anyway, either playing his first round match or at practice, at least I wish you so!

vale- i didn't go to kooyong!!! (like i said above) and i've explained in kooyong thread.

SEB JUST BEAT PHILIPPOUSSIS AND WILL PLAY AGASSI IN THE FINAL!!! my heart is still racing!! lol it was such a brilliant match from Seb and he played SO MUCH BETTER compared to his match against malisse!! His speed was unbelievable and he was moving fantastically and got a lot of shots back and philippoussis probably wasn't expecting he would. His shot making was unbelievable as well so i hope he can keep this up for tomorrow!!
He seemed really happy throughout the match and was smiling quite a bit and it was really cute coz philippoussis hit a serve which was clearly wide by like 2 inches and he went up to the umpire and was like 'nup nup nup, no way! that was long by THIS MUCH!!!' ..which of course was true so it was called a fault

And in another point in the first game of the third set, a ball was called long then philippoussis was appealing to the chair umpire but the chair umpire was like 'no, i'm not going to overrule it' but then SEB said it was good showing, like always, his great sportmanship good luck against agassi (who he could meet in the third round or something like that next week at AO)

Gasquet will play Philippoussis on Saturday...should be a great match!

seb's journal:

10 janvier 2003

Salut.
