Have they shunned JC? That is not good for him....
I can't see him getting a WC for Hamburg either. German tennis is not doing so well at the moment and they'll probably want to give WC to their own players...quite who I don't know though. Burgsmuller, Kohlschreiber, Zverev?
How exactly? He wasn't ranked high enough, he's not on the qually list and hasn't got a wildcard, there's no special exempt afaik. He might be on the alternate list but probably too far down to make the draw. Is there another way of getting in?

It looks like it's a week off for Ferrero then doesn't it? If he wins Estoril, he'd be ranked somewhere in the 40s or 30s wouldn't he?
Got to love the organisation thinking of Sanguinetti over Ferrero, got to love that choice.

It does rather look like a week off, and perhaps he could do with it. Folks at SteveG were expecting him to get a wildcard, but I can't say I'm terribly surprised since the Italians and Germans tend to go for home-grown players as wc.
Still, if he does really well in Estoril it should be enough for an RG seed. Just as well Baggy didn't beat him the other day I suppose.
