He can't have been that hurt at USO 09, he beat Gonzalez, a guy whose A game would leave him powerless to do anything no matter his level of fitness, and some brutally long points against Monfils.

Dull is always injured when he loses. Just like extremely injured Azarenka. These two should date

Wow I have explained this to you about five times, you are a clear troll.

Hot news.

I think DelPo would have defeated him even he was not injured. But maybe he was not able to beat back to back a healthy Nadal and Federer. So Nadal injury denied Federer another major

This is obvious.

Nadal was serving at Gilles Simon levels that match. But Delpo was still too good, probably Nadal still would have lost, but maybe in 4 sets.

That is why i will always root against him. Cheating as hell with the coaching, lame poor same old excuses while losing and the same boring defensive game of his.

All what he proves here that he is an idiot, otherwise how you can explain he exposes himself to such injury from the tournament start, when he knows he stands no chance of winning the whole thing.. Its either that or that he is making yet another excuse.

So many idiots in this thread. How about reading his whole presser before saying he doesn't admit when he's outplayed? He says very clearly that Delpo played better and that he himself did not play badly. Delpo hit all the lines and deserved the win.

Quote:
Have you ever faced such a brutal, consistent display of tennis as you faced tonight? Del Potro was on fire.
RAFAEL NADAL: Yes, he played amazing. Just congratulate him. Very few times I played against a player with a level like today I played against. Nothing to say on me. I felt that I could serve better than what I did ‑ talking about me. At the end you have to analyze what you can do better. That return on the 1‑0, 30‑40, that can go in. But at the end I played against a player who served 80% of first serves, who hit every ball as hard as he can I think, and with no mistakes. So I go home with the calm that I did all what I had to do and I played today against a player that was better than me tonight. That's all. Is fair to say that.

Q. You've been saying all week that the court surface here is faster than Beijing. Is that almost perfect conditions for Juan Martin, the way he hits the ball hard and low?
RAFAEL NADAL: Well, is perfect if you are playing the way that he is playing at the end. I like to play on fast surfaces. But a little bit slower I will have a chance to change a little bit the dynamic of the game. But the only chance to change the dynamic of the game was to hit hard, closer to the lines. I really go home with the feeling that I didn't play bad. That's the real thing. Is fair to say that. I am enough humble to say that, that I played well, and I lost 6‑2, 6‑4. Is true, in my opinion, that I never talk about luck. But lot of important points that he played at the limit, and he was able to keep touching lines, keep playing as hard as he can, and no mistakes in that important moments. That's it. Is true that the conditions were good for him. But in my opinion were good for me, too ‑ if he don't play at that level.

Nadal was injured in USO 2009. Problem? That doesn't mean if he wasn't injured he would win the tournament. That just means he was injured. Don't overreact like 5 year babies. You're really looking like idiots when you're doing this.

I can believe he was hurt, but the only man who could've stopped Del Potro that tournament was Federer.
