Default Shanghai R2: Monfils def. Pospisil 7-5 7-6(4)

La Monf . Goof stuff, I predicted him to reach the QF here and he is delivering thus far.

Pospisil has now lost 10 tiebreaks in a row, I reckon Haase is starting to get nervous.

Pospisil is the new Verdasco when it comes to winning tiebreaks and close sets.

Default Re: Shanghai R2: Monfils def. Pospisil 7-5 7-6(4)

I was hoping Pospisil winning this, and the last I saw was Pospisil being broken on the 2nd Set after going 2-0, making it 2-2. Kind of expected, really. That said, congrats to Monfils and I hope he gives whoever wins between Federer and Seppi a good run (like what he did against Berdych in RG).

Vashy definitely needs to do some work on being a much better competitor when things get tight.

as expected, nicely done gael. I don't think vasek is to far off from taking over the tiebreaks lost in a row record

Not yet - Haase lost close to 20 I believe. But he could be heading down that road soon .

Disappointing to see Vasek lost (and another tiebreak at that), but it's impossible to say what went on in this match. Wasn't streamed. Monfils could have easily been the one that raised his level, rather than Pospisil dropping his.

Monflis probably did a few 360 no scopes against Vasek and got him scared

Lneders: One thing people need to understand about this so-called weak era is that it was 'weak' for Federer on HC and grass and for Nadal on clay (Federer on clay too Nadal apart) because they were so much better than anyone else, for any outsider the era couldn't possibly be any harder, during 5+ years you had to either beat the best grass/HC player ever or the best clay player ever in every single Slam just to get 1 Slam title.

Discouraging- I was hoping for a good run here for Vasek. La Monf will probably clown away his chances next match.
