I am surprised to not see Hewitt there, but on the other hand he hasn't been down 2-0 too many times I think.

Exactly, I agree with you that this would be also a good sort of ranking doing the ranking not by absolute values, but by "comeback percentage" as you mentioned.

However, with a little bit maths of your own you can easily get the percentage because I've included the total times somebody was down 0-2 sets in brackets.

That's true. Australian Open 2005 included, Hewitt was down 0-2 sets just 15 times in his career so far, most recently against Gaudio and Federer 2004 (Roland Garros and US Open).

I am surprised to see so many big servers like Becker, Todd MArtin, Sampras, Rafter, Goran Ivanisevic....

I guess if you have a big serve you simply need to serve to stay in the match and not really fight your way back like baseliners need to. It is easier for baseliners to give up I think, because it takes alot of stamina and you need to fight for every point.

Krickstein did it 10 times, so that blows that theory about baseliners giving it up.

Just said it is easier to give it up. Krickstein must have been an amazing fighter but I doubt Becker was that great as a fighter.

I don't like Becker very much and never have. He used to be a slow starter unless he was playing indoors and his arrogance that he wouldn't be beaten helped him in these times.

To be fair of those comebacks guys like Camporese or Miles McLaughlin or whatever his name shouldn't have won 2 sets off him in the first place.

maybe but still, to make the comeback isn't easy. and he pulled back against lendl previously. did a great comeback against agassi who he had a poor record against and almost won from 2-0 down against edberg at wimbledon. he was definitely a great fighter.

I am not discounting the ones against the top guys at all, but what was he smoking to be down against the guys that I mentioned earlier.
