Mate, are you who are saying that your taste and preferences, your private philia and phobia, should rule tennis world, not me.

That's the thing, I never said that. Yet you still somehow came to the conclusion that I did.

It piss me off the monotonous and simplistic point of view with people usually address this issue, at least in this site.
It maybe works today with players like Nadal and Fed around.

There will be a day when the top 100 is filled with different clones of Murray and Djokovic, some better, some worse. Matches will last 4-6 hours, GS-matches 8 hours.

But why bother even to have "three different surfaces"? Why just don't put every tournament to Miami paced courts.

People will absolutely "love it" and tennis will be dead around 2025.

Sorry, the thought of every matchup being Nolandy just caused a deep shiver in my spine.

I'm not saying that a very slow/fast event here and there is not good for tour, but it's not the main issue in tennis popularity. To name some

- an american, german and chinese idols would attract double of present attention.

- tennis is not a TV-friendly sport. I believe that all modifications to be made in the future of tennis will be aimed at alleviating that.

- young players are shit right now. His inability to challenge sacred cows are doing a lot of damage to the future of tennis.

Very true.

Yes, TV is huge. It's not TV-friendly, that's always been the case. But playing these long matches with dozens of breaks, well it's not helping either.

At least there should be a couple of really fast tournaments. One GS + the World Tour Finals and maybe a few ATP 1000-tournaments.

The homogenization of the courts have led to IMO the cheapening of the CYGS and Career slam.
Since 1969 only Agassi has won the career Grand slam.
Also the only one to do it as HC a Grand Slam surface.
In the last 5 years alone fed and nadull achieved the career slam and Novak was a few games away from joining them.

This.

Fuck me, it's like a different sport.
Ball striking rather than endurance and running.

I don't understand why marathon runners don't try tennis. They will win much more money.

Seriously speaking, I only see a player in his prime beating up badly a very old man. Does that makes you horny?

good old days......excellent quality of tennis and technique , not so fast like 90s but ideal por all court and attacking tennis , perfect balance for me , AFTER 2006 AND 2007 was a total garbage.

all physicall tennis , less skills and talent.

anyways this is not new , ATP manipulate the surfaces for money , in the 90s the money was with the very fast courts and with the sampras-agassi rivalry.

now it`s opposite , ATP wanted than nadal could faced federer in other surfaces than always in clay , people wanted that too and for money atp started to slow down all the surfaces for made than roger and nadal play finals in other surfaces , but nadal with that surface couldn`t even made a final or semi.

and after that with the arrived of nole and murray was even more perfect for atp`s buisiness.

all money.

if the next generation is good in fast and people love them , they will be back to fasters courts.
