Funny thing is that if I made a comment like that you would run like a little bitch to the mods complaining about 'personal attack'

Tennis started off as a one surface sport, as we know. Then came clay and another style was developed. Later came hard, which proved to be a neutral surface for the grass and clay courters. Later we got indoor carpet. All manner of skills and styles could flourish on the different surfaces and there was no perceived need for all surfaces to play the same. It was even considered a challenge to try to get better results on your weaker surface. I remember really enjoying the huge differences in styles and, growing up in the UK and watching Wimbledon, finding the clay court game somewhat 'exotic'. My point is that the ATP are killing the origins of tennis with their cynical gradual surface homogenization. In a sense, they are dumbing down tennis and treating it as a product to be sold, betraying its roots and history. Will it stop? No. In fact, it will only get worse. The more people there are with TV sets and the more casual fans they can seduce with 'physical contests', then the worse it will get for us 'tennis' fans. And the fact is we will all keep watching because we love it so much and we are tied to our memories of when tennis was played on all different surfaces and it was about the tennis skills on show and not whose legs lasted longest.

Speed up(bring back the speed) courts that need to be quicker, as they were in their regular state.
That means, IW, Miami, Wimbledon, AO, USO, need to be faster.

FFS Wimbledon even in 1st week is slower than Cinci or Canada Masters, not to mention its speed after 2nd week, freaking clay.

They're more likely to change Wimbledon to clay. Wait, that's already been done...

When the current stars retire/decline maybe. The next generation prefers fast courts.

But tennis is now a cash cow sport so....

Is Wimbledon really THAT slow now? It seems slower than the 05-07 days but what category would you say it is now? I'd still say it's in the top 25% fastest courts on tour. Maybe a sign of how slowed down a lot of events are now

Cincinnati has been won by Rafa and Novak a whopping combined ZERO times. Murray alone has won 2 titles there. On top of that, USO has generally been regarded as the quickest slam in the past 10 years or so, and he has proven his successes there as well, regardless of whatever piss poor weather condition excuses you have. It was still the first GS he was able to make a final.
Didn't Novak get injured in Cinci Final against Murray in 2011? And he also got to the final last year. Also, Arthur Ashe hasn't been fast in the last years.

I'm not trying to make an argument about Murray's best surface though (which I think is grass).

First week is still pretty good. The second week however is like mud.

When you've got 2 of the fittest players on tour dying out there in a 3 setter then there's clearly something wrong. What if it hadn't been a final? Neither guy would be able to play the next day.
