Default 1930's

This is my favourite era in tennis and on WTAWORLD I loved this thread about HELEN WILLS MOODY, Helen Jacobs, Hilde Sperling, Cilly Aussem and Alice Marble.

So what about the men?

Anyone interested?

GOTTFRIED VON CRAMM, Don Budge, Fred Perry, Bill Tilden. Let's talk about them

I too am interested in these players and in tennis history in general (esp the 30's through the 60's). It is indeed rare to meet others who wax nostalgic about this golden age era tennis. Sports Illustrated did several insightful articles this past year: one on Gottfried Von Cramm, the other on Pancho Gonzales - I assume you may've seen them. Also, a new book on Bobby Rigg's life just came out - Jack Kramer recently mentioned it in an interview he did for the Tennis Channel. Tell me more about your interests about this decade in particular - what draws you to it?
