i'm totally hopeless when it comes to seeding and all that stuff, but can't the ppl determining the seeds give players higher seeding than their actual ranking because they were a former champion or runner-up? i seem to remember that they seeded mark philippoussis higher last year at wimbledon than what he was actually ranked. i might be wrong though.

anyway, VAMOS JC!!

All grand slams seed according to the player's entry ranking the week before the tournament starts (not sure of the exact timing). ONLY Wimbledon takes into account the player's past success on the surface, i.e., grass, as well as their entry ranking. They do not do this at Roland Garros, I'm afraid.

Vamos, Juanqui!

The Wimbledon seeding is smart, i think
IF RG was done like that, then people like JC would get seeded for far superior results, and people like Andy would get seeded lower due to his unique way of handling the clay season

Ferrero has very little chance of getting a seed now at 34. Well, at least he tried. And losing his position to Gasquet, who was even lower in ranking than him at the beginning of the clay season, what can you say.

I feel that it's so helpless to hope that someone in the seeds will withdraw to leave room for JC. Then again, it's as helpless to hope that he will get a wonderful draw with all those contenders out of his way. But all I can do now is to wish him best of luck and that his confident is good enough to carry him thru a few rounds. Having said that, I can't help but wonder what's wrong with Taylor Dent, is he going to withdraw? Dent hasn't play the entire clay season and he last withdraw from Hamburg because of ankle injury. Anyone knows? He is the last chance JC has for a seed.
