I won't say it was an upset at all. He had big odds at the bookmakers, yes, but he is definitely much more talented than his ranking and Taro for example is overrated. Virgili has better serve and better groundstrokes so no big surprise that he destroyed this clown. Virgili should be ranked between 300-500 imo.
yeah for sure it wasnt an upset, virgili is ranked outside top 1000 and taro is top 300 and played challenger quarterfinals last week, but it wasnt an upset, okay
How do you define an upset? One of your favorite players lost to a player who is ranked outside the Top 1000?
1) Taro is incosistent and overrated and 2) Virgili - if you take a look at his career - has much more potential than being ranked around 1000.
So if you consider the circumstances this is not a big surprise. Of course Taro was the favorite but it is nothing like "Wow, this is fuckin unreal" ....like Stakhovsky bt. Federer or Darcis bt. Nadal.
Your problem is that you are a little fanboy of Taro and so it is a big surprise for you because you don't see that Taro is overrated as hell. The guy has no serve and his groundstrokes are average, no variety in his game. The guy is mugging around for months, his servinge stats are always weak and so you can't be surprised that he is losing matches to guys like Virgili who should have much more talent than Daniel Taro.
