Roger losing to scrubs left and right. No power, no consistency, FH worse than BH,....

I struggle to see any positives from this loss to the 100+ ranked player. Roger might want to end his career sooner if this keeps happening during the rest of the year. I'm sure he doesn't like losing to journeyman below ranking 100 in back to back tournaments.

Is the first thing that come to my mind after Roger`s loss.

He needs to improve his RoS, stamina, footwork and psychical condition in general and Annacone is not working on that

I agree with you, there is no positive thing about this defeat.

If he would lose to thw Fog, well, maybe we can see some positive things, but not against Delbo

FH and ROS are appalling, truly horrendous. The scrub didn't even serve that well in the 2nd set. At some point % was 30 something per cent and Roger didn't even had a BP chance. He had a game with 2 DFs and couldn't break then.

FH shanking it everywhere, missing by miles to the point that BH seems more consistent than the FH.

Truly disgusting, Roger's worst level and results since 2002 surely. If the year keeps on going like this I think even Roger, as optimistic as he is, will surely call it a day.

That's fine but I'm sure he doesn't want to play and travel only to lose to mugs outside the top 100.

Let's see how the rest of the year goes. If it is this bad with a pre-QF loss at the USO and no more titles then I'd say it's best for Roger and his fans, as much as it pains me, to call it a day.

Roger is playing because he loves to play and I get he doesn't have to win every tournament he plays but I'm sure he doesn't like losing to scrubs outside the top 100.

Just hope he improves somehow, we'll need a miracle, hope we get one.

Agreed. Personally i think that if he can't raise his level in this or the next year, he will retire at the end of 2014.

I think it is unfair to call Delbo a mug outside of top 100 the guy is really talented and his constant emotional and physical problems couldn't make him reach the top 100.
He played a great tournament from head to tail. And it's a matter of time and consistency for him to be up.

Still, a painful loss, as every close match, it'd had a different way out turning around 3 or 4 points, but I think this thing some people pretend to have dismissing Delbonis as if he were an idiot...

...I don't think it's right.

For me it was particularly the FH, you could just see there was no penetration/ venom in it like it used to be a few years back. For the most part he simply could not hit through Delbonis, and the Argentine wasn't missing many balls so it was difficult to draw errors. Also his movement has deteriorated even since this year AO when his serve was poor but he still had decent movement. Hopefully something changes pre USO

That's fine and I don't dispute that and sorry for calling him that (heat of the moment).

The fact is Roger lost to 2 guys he should never have lost and both guys are, for whatever reasons, outside the top 100. Delbonis played well but he wasn't unbeatable today. Roger's game is all over the place. He can't return to save his life. It's not normal not to have a single BP chance until the middle of the 2nd set when the opponent had just 30 something 1st serve percentage. Roger had 1 BP chance in the 2nd set, the guy had just 46% 1st serves in the 2nd set. Not even in a game where he was given 2 points by DFs could he do something about it.
During the 2nd set it was always Delbonis who was closer to breaking than Roger.

There are no excuses, Roger lost because he played bad, he mustn't rely on opponents choking to win (even then the 2 DFs at 6-5 in the 2nd set....).

As I said, I hope Roger improves because I don't think he will stick around if he keeps having these poor results.
