Zac, doubt many people come in here at all.

I was hoping he could win, he really needed it, to turn his season around a bit. But like usual, he loses his concentration way too much and loses, i heard the rain delay came at 5-5 in the 3rd. That probably helped Chris because his max concentration time is for about 20 mins, then he switches off.

Helped him get a set.

Wanted a Federer/Guccione 3rd round

I assume Davis cup next, then i'm not sure, i have seen him on the entry lists for some euro indoor tournament (as an alt), you would think he would play a few south american challengers since he'll be down there again.

Loses against Stepanek isnt that bad for the Gooch, he finally won a match in a slam.

Lost his Davis Cup match in Chile.............even though he won more points than Massu and lost three sets in tie breakers. It is beyond me as to how someone with that serve can have such a mediocre record in tie breaks!

In a rare situation Gooch drew Joe Sirianni (the only other aussie in the draw) in the first and took him out 3-6 6-1 7-6(7). Plays either Michael Berrer or Bredan Evans in the second round. Heres hoping he can make semis in Bratislava.

Have you come in here to jinx him, first win in a month, against an out of form sirianni, nothing to get excited about.

Well just the fact he was playing Joe Sirianni I thought was worth mentioning. He took out Evans in the second round 6-4 6-4 and next plays Petzschner or Ulihrach. Will be a tough one against Petzschner. The 21 points he has gained this week is a real bonus seeing as he has another 57 to defend for the rest of the year. I think he should be able to go deep in Jersey next week on grass.

Well after a good week in Slovakia Chris backs up this week in Jersey as the number 1 seed. He will play a qualifier in round 1. Lets hope the Mighty Gooch can make at least a semi final showing here so he wont have to worry about dropping out of the top 100.

could keep it up lost in 4 sets. really interesting to see how he performs in future tounraments.
