Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---
Great 1st round match up for Chris. He has nothing to lose. The tactics is straight: good serve and high concentration in the tie-breaks. Roddick isn't a master of tight tie-breaks when an opponent serves well.

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---
Guccione knows he can knock off Roddick as shown in Sydney this year and Adelaide last year. However, can he bring that consistency into this match?

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---
I hope Guccione can keep the Sydney(2008) and Adelaide (2007) in mid season. Gccione wins 76 76. I reckon he will have a great percentage of tiebreaker wins.

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---
The Gooch is on the verge of making the transition from challenger to ATP, if the Gooch can win this next match then he should stay around the 95 mark until October! and thats if he doesn't win another match (not including Wimbledon result), if you take wimbledon into account then he would stay at about the 110 mark until October if he doesn't win another match until then which is quite remarkable if you think about it. Theres a big block where the Gooch has next to no points to defend which in retrospect from this years perspective a very big oppurtunity to possibly crack top 50.
He's in a far better position than Luczak and I expect him to pass Looch very soon. So don't be too suprised if the Gooch plays davis cup playoffs this year.
Also I just realised the Gooch may even possibly make the cut for the olympics haha.

I wouldn't be too confident on him, i mean we were in the same situation last year and he did almost nothing for the rest of the year, just that 2nd round at wimby and a couple of decent challenger result (a couple semis here and there). He's always going to be inconsistant and with the way he pplay there will always be day where he loses to players a lot lower than him. I beilieve top 50 is a good possibilty too if he works hard and get the results he should get. Beating Thomas Johannsson would be huge tonmorrow if he managed to pull it off.

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---
even if he loses his next one he'll go close to sneaking into the top 70 with this result. But on this form, there's nothing to stop him going all the way here....except Soderling, who's playing as good as anyone on the planet right now

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---
Unfortunately he lost today to Stepanek...second set score 6/1 which was not great but his efforts last week against Roddick as a lucky loser must have inspired confidence. Good work. Keep it going.
