Yet again?? Last time Andy was 'routined by a top 4' in a slam was AO 2011!!!

Your bitterness is pathetic.

Should we say that Nole's Wimbledon 2011 was a fluke because he faced TOMIC (lol) in the QF, Tsonga dealt with Federer, and he faced an awful Rafito in the final?

Of course not.

Stop being deluded and bitter. It's not Murray's fault. He can only face what is in front of him.

Pretty sure Nadal handled him pretty easily everywhere else too.

We can and we should. Now, the thing is, someone needs to define 'a good performance'. Is reaching semis or final a good performance? I think that most of Murray fans see a good performance only if he wins Wimbledon.

Why are Murray fans still pretending that he won the US Open? The tournament was cancelled after the quarter-finals.

Relatively, but Andy won sets at Wimby and USO against Rafa, and at RG he did better than most. Last time Andy was comprehensively beaten by top 4 in a slam was AO 2011---over 2 years ago and Pre-Lendl.

Why are people still using the same old boring joke?

It got boring months ago.

I think he has been beaten comfortably in several, not thrashed, but these kind of matches were convincing. The guy said routined, not thrashed.

Yup. This phenomenon also applies to Fedal and Djokovic. Until of course, they meet each other, at which point both players perform terribly in a nail biter where the loser performs the worst he's ever performed.

One thing is player's form but another is pressure that lies on his shoulders - expectations, aby sort of streaks etc, that may actually make it more difficult for that player. So it's necessary to look, what is the actual situation.

Imo

1. Most pressure is on Murray's shoulders. Already last year many have seen him as a favourite and despite reaching the final, his loss against Roger was really hard for him. At Olympics he proved his grass qualities and he won US Open (whatever the conditions were - GS means a lot). Olympics and USO caused imo, that people started to exaggerate his chances to win Wimby. This season is so far not very succesful for him, his clay performance is just disaster and also because he "tanked" RG, the expectations are really big.

2. I'd put Federer in the second place. He proved his qualities there 7 times and only fool would question his grass achievements. But so far his season is just terrible and there is no better place to prove he is still competitive. He can't afford to fail.

3. Djokovic. Unlike the upper 2, his season isn't disastrous. He won GS, defeated Nadal in MC, relatively comfortable at no.1 in rankings, but there aren't many reasons to celebrate. He failed in IW and Miami, his clay season wasn't brilliant (apart from MC) and mainly - he failed at RG. He has to defend a lot of points in the second half of the season, so I guess he'd need good tournament.

4. Nadal. His comeback was fantastic, 9 finals, 7 titles, 8th RG, defended all last season points, etc. From my point of view he accomplished his "mission" and everything he wins from now on is just bonus.

He played horribly at Queen's? I take it you didn't actually watch any of the matches?

You can certainly expect a good showing, OP. Infact, I'm backing him to win the whole thing, OP. To say he was 'horrible' at Queens is an extreme exaggeration. He wasn't at his best but was far from 'horrible'. Anyway, form at pre-slam warm up tournaments are irrelevant. Murray lost in R2 at Queens last year.
