Youzhny is a much better grass player, but noone will seriously believe he can take down a top-4 so his place in the draw won't be very anticipated.
Agreed on just about all of it, although the whole Basic->Zverev->Double bagel logic isn't very good.

A lot of the dark horses are picked on the odds of having a stunning day and causing an upset. The title is going between 4 guys, I think we can all agree on that.

Then you have the ones that can take out one or possibly even two from the big 4. At the bottom you have noticeable players (Rosol) and other players who probably won't do very much, but can definitely beat a few of the bigger names (not top 4, just below that).

I don't see Youzhny, although a fine grasscourter, causing an upset. Same with Ferrer, decent players, probably beat who they'll have to beat. But they lack the weapons that other, lower ranked players DO have that made me pick these players.

Noletard still bitter about JJ's comments on Nole? LOL.

Let me just remind you JJ made the 3rd round of Wimbledon after coming through Qualifiers last year, he very nearly made the 4th round.

So to call him a dark horse is indeed correct.

In the Clay Death era we had a fireside chat discussion thread for Wimbledon the minute the US Open was over.

This thread isn't premature, we're already in grass court season and the qualies are in full flow. Everyone is just looking at their calendar to see when these godawful grass court vulture warmups are over (not meaning Halle and Queens of course, the other ones) and we can get on with the real deal.

considering Florian Mayer then proceeded to school Gasquet and Janowicz has already accomplished this mission Jerzy Shore could have reached QF on his second appearance at Wimby

Janowicz is a dark horse, whether people like it or not.

When he is in the zone he can beat any player, and he proved that not only in Paris Masters last year, but also in Rome this year, beting two top 10 players in a row.

I don't get why you even bring HaHalle form into it.

Every one knows that both Halle and Queen's give no indication as to what will happen at Wimbledon. I mean Murray lost the first match of Queen's last year, and made the Final of Wimbledon. Fed lost in the Final of Halle, and won Wimbledon. So we should take results at either event with a pinch of salt.

What about Sijsling, i think he can go very far, he has great game especially on grass or fast surfaces, he plays a quite good year, but IMO, only few people realise him, it's in his hands to do some damage, let's say, R4 with a good draw could be possible, good serve, good volleys, good forehand, he's an excellent player, did really well against Tsonga, and other Top 20 player in the last months, so why shouldn't he be able to have some nice matches in Wimby, and beat one or even more of the Top 32 seeded.
Mark my words, he could be kind of a secret favorite together with players like Malisse, Hewitt , Youzhny or Kohlschreiber.
