Re: It's nice to have you Carsten.
Carsten should get seeded next week in Italy. Should be interesting to see how he backs up after a successful two weeks at the US Open.

Re: It's nice to have you Carsten.
Carsten Ball AUS [1] vs. Albert Ramos-Vinolas ESP
Pablo Santos ESP vs. Antonio Comporto ITA [WC]
Philipp Oswald AUT vs. QUALIFIER
Xavier Malisse BEL [5] vs. Guillermo Olaso ESP
Harel Levy ISR [4] vs. Nikola Ciric SRB
Francesco Aldi ITA [WC] vs. QUALIFIER
Jose Checa-Calvo ESP vs. QUALIFIER
Flavio Cipolla ITA [6] vs. Alberto Cammarata ITA [WC]
Alessio Di Mauro ITA [8] vs. Adrian Ungur ROU
Rogério Dutra da Silva BRA vs. QUALIFIER
Boris Pashanski SRB vs. Igor Sijsling NED
Ivan Navarro ESP [3] vs. Alexander Flock GER
Martin Fischer AUT [7] vs. Gabriel Trujillo-Soler ESP
Pierre-Ludovic Duclos CAN vs. Miguel Angel Lopez Jaen ESP
David Goffin BEL vs. Andrey Kuznetsov RUS [WC]
Kevin Anderson RSA [2] vs. Iñigo Cervantes-Huegun ESP
Number 1 seed will come with a lot of pressure. I would be happy even Carsten even made it to the quarterfinals because there is a lot of dangerous floaters in that draw. He doesn't have any points to defend until October so he has a little room for some losses but with only 72 points left to defend this year I can see Carsten getting very close to direct entry for next years Australian Open. I really hope he finishes top 100 because then we will have three direct entrants in next years Australian Open with the possibility of 4 if Gooch gets his act together.
Interesting times for Australian tennis with a couple of male players popping up and the likes of Alicia Molik coming out of retirement, cant wait for January!

Re: It's nice to have you Carsten.
Ball lost 6-2 6-3. He seems to be stuggling these last couple of months. Can't seem to string wins together.

Re: It's nice to have you Carsten.
Carsten lost in the first round of Rennes this week. He retired after losing the first set to 28-year-old Australian qualifier Junaid Rameez.

Re: It's nice to have you Carsten.
This is six 1st Round losses consecutively - some serious mental issues here.
