Default Re: PAW ATP Managers Thread

I have been advised by a manager that he caught someone tried to play unfairly and deleted his/her incorrect pick.

Do we have a rule somewhere here as to how to treat this matter? Maybe something like first time warning, second time banned for a month from playing this game.

Personally when I manage, I haven't come up with a situation when someone was trying to cheat. I have been very careful with checking this one by regularly updating the pick summary (at least in my excel data) and printing out the posts/messages. This way, at least it will reduce the possibility of someone trying to cheat without getting caught. Of course it can still happen, and we can only hope that all participants will play fairly.

To all managers out there, please try to put more control when you're managing the game. We all want a fair & good game.

Also, while we are doing it, I want to suggest that we put a rule on who can join playing this game, just like we have in the WTA PAW. We should have a limit of 100 posts & minimum 2 months membership to be able to play this game.

Once the rules have been agreed by most managers, we might need to put it in the PAW thread as well as in the PAW tournament threads at least for the first few months, so everyone is aware of that.

Which tournament exactly are you talking about?

Sorry, but something like first time warning is only good in case of not harmful attempt of editing pick, in case of deleting incorrect pick the only fair rule is banning.

I agree, personally I use method: "save as htm" which means I keep all paw's sites on hard disc.
Btw, I think that deleted post is invisible for regular users, moderators and admins, on the other hand, can see such deleted post with no problems, am I right?

I agree, it's such a disrespectful for people to cheat considering how much time and effort we put in for this game. Let's wait for other managers to give their opinion.

I am sure the moderators can check if a pick has been deleted or not, but it's only when we realised it. If it has been deleted without the manager realising it, then the cheater will get away with it

It's a shame but it's true.

This is my quick set of offences & punishments for paw's cheaters:

1. 1st cheating (editing or deleting post) - disqualification from current tournament.
2. For every 2nd cheating - banning for a month from playing PAW-game.
3. For 3th cheating - perm-banning from playing PAW-game.

Btw, the case which we are talking about is deleting post and at the same time 2nd offence.

I can do a quick scan every day in the PAW thread to see if anyone deleted their post and report it to the PAW manager if you like as I can also see the time of the deleted post

That will be perfect solution.
But will it be too much work for you?
Maybe you don't need to do it every day, maybe just at the end of the tournament to see if anyone has deleted their posts. Can you do the scan for the whole week, or does it need to be done everyday?

I think it will be pretty fair if we announce in the thread that if someone deleted their posts they will be disqualified from the tournament and if they do it for the second time, then banned for 1 month and third time will be banned from playing the game.

If they have accidentally deleted the post, the only consideration we can give is only if they notify the manager straight away.

Is everyone agree with this? If so, we should start this rule from Wimbledon.

Btw, who will manage Wimbledon?

nah it won't take very long (to do so on a daily basis), I'm on MTF a lot as it is so another 10 seconds won't make much difference It's a great game and I know from experience the managers take a lot of time to run a tournament so to have people cheat by deleting picks would annoy me as well.

I agree.
What about a case of the player which we are talking about? This was his 2nd offence.

In that case, could you please do that start from Wimbledon Thanks heap for this. It does help a lot.

The managers need to announce in the PAW thread that the thread will be scan every day, so the cheater won't get away with it
